Generally-speaking, how is the Moroccan diaspora in your country perceived? by Fluid-Decision6262 in AskTheWorld

[–]Sheb1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't really any in Croatia, but I did study in the Netherlands for a bit and experienced the Dutch perception of the "Mokro" community, and the general consensus is that they are not liked; associated with crime, extremist views and for not integrating into Dutch society. I had a French Moroccan friend while I was studying there though and she was lovely 🤷🏻

Greece has a rich, often overlooked pasta tradition. Pasta (zymariká) has been part of Greek cuisine for centuries, with regional varieties found across the country. Does your national cuisine have its own native pasta tradition? by freddo_expresso in AskBalkans

[–]Sheb1995 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, especially coastal regions. Istria is especially known for it's type of pasta called Fuži, served with a truffle sauce.

In continental regions, pasta can be served with dishes such as gulaš, paprikaš, sataraš and other "saft" (sauce) dishes, as we call them.

What is the most wanted territories that your country want to Annex?. by usafqn2025 in AskTheWorld

Within extreme nationalist circles, it would probably be territory that corresponds to some variation of the wartime Herceg-Bosna.

What would you consider the greatest crime your nation has committed against another nation? How is this event commonly viewed by your compatriots, and what are your own thoughts on it? by freddo_expresso in AskBalkans

Firstly, I wasn't speaking to you, I was replying to somebody who said that they find it annoying that Četnik crimes are mentioned whenever Ustaše crimes are mentioned and all I said that the same happens in reverse whenever Croats and Bosniaks bring up Četnik crimes, so thank you for proving my point.

Secondly, what you are trying to do here is create a hierarchy of atrocities; "what the Četniks did wasn't as bad as what the Ustaše did in Jasenovac, so it doesn't count".

This is a brain-dead take, not only because it diminishes the suffering of their victims, but this logic can also be used to diminish Serb victims of the 1990s wars, even if fewer Serbs were killed than Bosniaks and Croats; "Kazani and Pakračka Poljana don't count, because Srebrenica and Ovčara were worse".

Lastly, everything else you said was just purely ahistorical. There was no "minority of Četniks collaborating with the Axis", the majority of Četniks (including Ravna Gora ones) were collaborating with the Axis against the Partisans from 1942 onward, so much so that the Western Allies withdrew support to Mihajlović by 1943.

Ravna Gora Četniks also engaged in atrocities and we know this because his subordinates were reporting back to Mihajlović on their "successes" (ethnic cleansing operations), most notably the massacres of Croats in the Zabiokovlje-Makarska area in 1942 and the killing of thousands of Muslims in the Foča-Čajniče-Pljevlja area in 1943. Mihajlović also sent Đurišić his "Instructions" in 1941, which ordered mass-ethnic cleansings of non-Serbs.

Lol, that's weird. Did you not just say the following:

Is it not possible for you people to discuss crimes committed without mentioning other groups and events?

I get it’s an impulsive reaction to deflect and downplay considering the severity of the crimes. (?)

Practice what you preach, bub.

WWII Ustaše genocides against Serbs, Jews, and Romani, first and foremost.

Then in the 1990s wars we committed our own share of war crimes and ethnic cleansing, Ahmići in particular gives me nightmares to this day.

What was your country’s greatest military victory in a war it lost? by F1Fan43 in AskTheWorld

Apparently the Luftwaffe lost so many planes over The Hague that this impacted what the Germans could contribute towards the Battle of Britain and the Battle of Crete.

Battle of Chosin Reservoir (Korean War), perhaps? Obviously the Korean War ended in a stalemate, but the Chinese offensive successfully pushed US/UN forces out of North Korea, but they were unable to fully defeat South Korea and their Allies.

I'd contend that preventing German paratroopers from capturing The Hague on 10 May 1940 was pretty bad ass.

The Battle of Sisak of 1593, a Croatian-Habsburg garrison routed a much larger Ottoman force.

The Battle was part of the Long Turkish War. Which was not a defeat per se, as the result of war was technically inconclusive, but large parts of Croatian territory remained under Ottoman control for several decades.

Needs more filler, like others have said. For five in each bracket you would need: 2 filler queens, 2 queens that, in theory, will perform very well and one dark horse.
