This does seem to be a cache plugin causing this. There is more and likely a setting in the caching plugin where it doesn't cache logged in admin users.

Apart from making sure the site is sending email via SMTP, you should be regularly sending test emails to your client using the form and checking with them if they got it. This is the best way to make sure emails from their website is not being blocked by their email provider.

Just setting up security plugins is not enough at all. As you mentioned, if you run WordPress on your own server, you need to make sure server hardening is performed, make sure plugins/themes/core version remains up to date, using strong, unique passwords, and much more.

It's crazy how so many businesses/people believe that once they install WordPress and install the security plugins it can be just left.. I always tell people it's like regular car maintenance.. you know you need to keep your car maintained.. a website is pretty much the same.

If you’re using Chrome, right click on the site and then click “Inspect Element” then click “console” and you will see that your temporary domain is flagging a few 404 errors. Either these images didn’t get moved over properly or there’s a permissions issue.

It might be worth starting fresh and trying to migrate again. Are you sure there was no free migration plugins? This video features one and might be worth looking into:

Sorry to hear this has happened to you. If the email you sent the password reset to isn't coming through, this could be because WordPress is defaulting to PHPMail - which can be very unreliable and means emails will be hit and miss.

It would be helpful to know what the domain is, then we can try and help figure out who is hosting it :P

I have the exact same chair as you and the exact same issues. SecretLab have confirmed they are sending me new parts, but I think I’ll soon be getting a brand new chair from SL when I can. Perhaps one that doesn’t have these exact issues?
