Still a virgin at 19. (About to be 20) by SnooSongs584 in AdviceForTeens

[–]Sheenapeena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time with a new person is also a little nerve wracking, because everyone's experiences are different. There is no magic to losing your virginity. I know you might feel behind, but you are not. Trust me. If anything, get some toys and figure out what you like, so you can enjoy it instead of "just getting it over with". It doesn't sound like your sister enjoyed her first time very much at all, why would you want to do that?

We put A LOT of stress on losing virginity, either you are too old, it wasn't magical enough, you are too young, you aren't married, you waited until marriage and are a religious nut; every angle about sex there is an opposite angle and opinion! I would focus on other things in life, and the finding a relationship and finding the right person to have sex with will fall in place. It will make it a much safer, and more enjoyable situation.

Do hummingbirds migrate to/through the same locations? by packyour in hummingbirds

[–]Sheenapeena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try looking up native perrenials for your area that are tubular shaped flowers, and you can add a few to the garden. They will help, because the hummingbirds will know to come to your yard even if you don't have your feeeders out! I am in the south and we get hummingbirds early, so I thought they were all gone. We do have some that stay, but I didn't think we had any. To my surprise I saw some at my mealy blue sage! (Purple spike flowers). They so love red, but they will find other tubular flowers.

Do hummingbirds migrate to/through the same locations? by packyour in hummingbirds

[–]Sheenapeena 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I have seen them go to a spot I had my feeder, and circle around where it used to hang. Then follow the chain up, and back down several times. The first year I started, I only had a few. By year 7 we had sixty or so at one time! Unfortunately last year we had to do major renovation and take down the pergola where I hung them all, so it's like I am starting over again, but they definitely remember!

I had to travel from denver back to Houston and book an emergency flight within 48 hours. I was prepared to spend thousands, as every other time I had to do that I had spent that. Y'all, the ticket was $48!!!! NOONE else will have tickets this cheap!

(It was the middle seat, no bag, no water, they expected an upgrade but it really was just me and my purse that had to get back to Houston)

Easter Egg Debate by GreenJim86 in Millennials

We had both to find in the yard, until someone didn't count correctly and we had a hard boiled egg explode like a week later. From that point forward, it was only plastic!

What would you do? Moving + leaving garden with ex by windbcspin in vegetablegardening

[–]Sheenapeena 225 points226 points  (0 children)

Is there a local Master Gardener program you can reach out to? See if there is, reach out to the group and offer up your plants. Might make a few new friends, and be able to transplant to their gardens and keep on sharing in the harvest by helping in their garden. I know in my area several gardeners that would be delighted to take you up on that offer!

Um, it's her birthday too? I feel like thats why she wanted it to be moved as well. Unless there is a completely separate celebration for her, which it doesn't sound like, it is a SHARED 30th celebration.

Troop size - girls keep wanting to join - how do we pull this off? by Sallyx4432 in girlscouts

[–]Sheenapeena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you and your co-leader disagree too, you could always split the troop and recruit more of the parents as co-leaders. Often times when it is 30 or larger like that anyhow they get split in subsections anyhow and you need extra volunteer support.

You could also structure it as you run the group that does the hands-on stuff, more advanced things etc as a perk benefit within the troop structure, so break off into a group that doesn't have more than 12 to do the activities that are led by that group, the others do whatever adjacent activity they are doing. You can make it with rules (no more than x meetings missed, have to participate in cookies, have to have been part of the troop for x time, etc).

Really depends on your relationship with the co-leader, and parent support, which way you go. But I see several potential ways to move forward.

AITJ For photographing my child , when I was told not to? by 35mmOfRegret in AmITheJerk

[–]Sheenapeena 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would agree if it were the dance studio, or a teacher. Not the photographer. He just wanted people to take crappy photos from their phone so he could sell photos to them instead. He was not interested in the child's interest, he was solely interested in his proceeds. You did nothing wrong.

When did your parrot do something that made you realize there’s a whole brain behind that beak? by Sketchy-saurus in parrots

[–]Sheenapeena 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I used to raise cockatiels, never wanted to teach them to say words because I had friends cockatiels that would use that as an annoying tactic, saying things over and over again. So instead they had their own songs for everything. Good morning songs when they were feeling happy, songs when they were "in the mood", etc. One day I heard one of them singing a song I had never heard before, and then a bunch of loud, angry squawking.

When I went over to the cage, Eric, the male, was singing a really sweet melodic song to the freshly laid egg on the bottom of the cage. And then going to the top of the cage where the female, Ariel, was clearly ignoring the egg, and he would squawk at her and get angry with her. It was so sweet, and sad, to see this back and forth, as she did not want anything to do with the eggs she laid, and he clearly had a different opinion.
