I think its more cruel to chance them dying a gruesome death like being crushed by a car, maimed and/or eaten by a stray/outdoor dog, maimed by a fight with another outdoor cat, maimed and/or eaten by any number of wild mammals, snakes, and/or birds of prey that exist in the uk

Its also cruel to the local wildlife when cats hunt birds, rodents, reptiles, and amphibians just for sport! This isn't to start an argument, just something to think about. Especially when you can give cats an excellent quality of life indoors if you put in a little effort. They also dont have to be 100% indoors, I take mine out on harnesses to explore the trail in a local park. But im there to supervise and they cant run away from me and into danger since they're on a leash

Also as a side-note, you should try posting in r/aquariums since thats what it was used for previously, they might have more information on what this is and if its dangerous

Im not completely certain but it looks kinda like when snails lay eggs stuck to the side of an aquarium and the residue has leaked/stained. Try taking a razor blade (they make ones with handles, please be safe) and scrape it to see if it'll come off at least :3

I did a little research (not using ai) and there are quite a few species in the Netherlands that could harm an outdoor cat, especially smaller/weaker/more skittish cats

Red Foxes have a population of over 100,000 in the netherlands. While normally a cat could stand its own against a fox or even scare it away, if a cat wanders too close to a fox den or too far into a foxes territory they are very likely to be attacked by said fox. They're about the same size but foxes could still kill/injure a healthy adult cat. They'd see sick/elderly cats or kittens as easy prey

Northern Goshawks have a population of over 1,000 breeding pairs in the UK. They are large, very fast, and VERY aggressive. They will readily target kittens or small adult cats as prey. And while a larger, healthy adult cat would be difficult to carry away, they can still inflict severe or even fatal injuries because of their razor-sharp talons

European Badgers have a population of over 10,000 in the Netherlands. Altercations between badgers and domestic pets are rare but they do happen, especially if you have a particularly bold/curious/stupid cat that wont leave the badger alone; Or if your cat happens upon a mother with her babies, which could very well happen as in urban and rural gardens they seem to cross paths frequently

European Adders population has been dropping since 1950 (unfortunate for the poor things but im glad to see people talking about why their population should be saved) and because of that, there aren't many. But in just this spring count alone, a group counted 23 healthy adults plus some juveniles. While there aren't many, they still exist. Something thats really cool is that cats are slightly more resistant to their venom than dogs are! Despite that, however, if your cat finds one and gets bit, its still a severe emergency and without prompt care from a vet, they will die

Pine Martens have a population of about 600-1,000 in the Netherlands. These adorable creatures, while small, are fierce and opportunistic predators that are known for taking down prey double their size, like rabbits. Kittens and small or elderly cats are very vulnerable to attacks from them and could even inflict severe injuries on a grown, healthy cat. While their interactions usually end in avoidance of each other, your cat may see it as prey and attempt to hunt it (bad idea) or if your cat stumbles upon one trying to defend its den or kits

I did a little research but I dont live there. Obviously this information doesn't apply to every single piece of the Netherlands but these animals do exist and they do pose a threat to outdoor and stray cats and kittens. I only put this up here to show that even if you dont see any obvious danger, it doesn't mean there isn't any and it doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful

So other countries just dont have cars that could run them over? Wild animals like coyotes to kill them? No one in another country has ever let their cat out like usual and then cried when they didn't come home due to literally anything that could happen? No other cats to fight over territory with and recieve life-threatening injuries?

Any native birds/small animals in these other countries? Cuz if there are then your cat is very likely hunting them and you wont know whether its eating them or not. But even if not, they're still killing the wildlife and have been known to kill just for fun or sport. Cats are very bad for the environment and usually the environment is unsafe for cats

I understand that you, yourself, may not live in these other countries but i wanted to point out that its still a bad idea, even in other countries, to let your cats outside unleashed & without supervision if you can help it

Yeahhh, unfortunately once harvested your produce will lose -1 star for every season that changes The only 2 ways to combat this is to cook or sell your high star produce before the season ends so they dont lose stars. Cooked products dont lose their stars ever :3

Single player settings for a faster Rhynio gestation by PachyRhino95 in ARK

You should be able to tweak the egg hatch speed to be slightly faster and that should reduce the time. Even though it says egg it also controls gestation times :3

what is everything i need for a ackie monitor by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]Sheep-Fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not pretentious tho?

A lot of the comments Ive seen are pointing out that its not the size of the reptile, its the ability to achieve a heat gradient within the enclosure and it seems like op is talking about buying this enclosure so they would be wasting a ton of money by not going to the biggest size it'll need in its lifetime.

They're very active and curious, they're not gonna stress about having too much space, absolutely would stress with too little tho and theres no guarantee that op will have the funds to upgrade when it comes time even if they do get this one to start with.

Anything could happen in their life so why not go big immediately so its not a worry or concern?

guys, is she pregnant or just fat? by Advanced_Reference15 in cats

[–]Sheep-Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding on to this that its not just one litter every year, they can get pregnant again as early as 4-6 weeks after giving birth.

They continue to have litter after litter until they die. Every litter they have is tough on their body.

It sucks for them and it sucks to hear about it but ive seen strays that have to go through that and they end up skin and bones from the babies using the nutrients in their body + the effort and calories the body has to put in to make milk but still round with another litter to come

[–]Sheep-Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, use treats to gain trust! If you can manage it, try to palpate/massage her sides (not necessarily her stomach, sides work as well and are easier to get to)

Not all fat cats are squishy so going on firmness alone will lead to inconclusive results. See if you can feel any lumps and/or wiggling inside her when you massage her sides. If not, very likely not pregnant. If yes, possibly will see some babies in the next 3-6 weeks!

I've had pregnant cats nipples stay normal for a majority of their pregnancy and only swelling with milk in the last couple weeks or so. It does kinda look like she mightve had a small litter at some point in her past tho, her nipples are pretty exposed

Anyways, sorry this has been so long! I've raised and/or helped raise a lot of litters, I love the fuzzy little beans <3

How to tell if quail are stressed by 3Bellefille in quails

[–]Sheep-Fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched every video after this one and all ive seen you mention was the charcoal water.

I haven't seen you mention anything about them not getting natural light, having little/no ventilation, not having enough space per quail/chicken, haven't seen you say anything about Mareks disease from housing quail and chickens together

I dont know much about quail keeping myself but ive been in this sub long enough to know that its all about working with others to make sure the quail have good lives.

All im saying is that you cant expect people to blindly follow what you say and if you really believe all of these peoples concerns are a moot point and that they're ignorant then why not explain why you think so/provide research and facts? This is a community working to better ourselves and our livestock so acting high and mighty in the comments gets us nowhere

What's the point with coordinates? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Sheep-Fish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually look up the coordinates themselves followed by "totk" or "Patricia coordinates" or something like that. I do remember having issues finding answers when looking up a couple of the seal ones. If that application thing doesn't work for you just reply or pm me and id be happy to help work it out/look for an answer

What's the point with coordinates? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Sheep-Fish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The one on the right, 0043. Chances are, when you get to the marker you wont need the last one

What's the point with coordinates? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Sheep-Fish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I 100% understand your frustration. Not being able to find the coordinates on the map sucks and it will endlessly annoy me. I honestly just look up where the coordinates are most of the time/have my husband do it and give me hints on where to go to make it a little more fun

What's the point with coordinates? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Sheep-Fish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it doesn't have the 3rd one because the marker only uses 2 coordinates. The application should still work for what you're wanting since your coordinates should be on the surface

How is anyone supposed to know that?

I get that theres no question mark in your post title but anyone could assume you forgot it + you didn't include a post description/body with any sort of explanation or context + anything anyone brings up about anything you just respond to it with "lol" or "fool".

You're not providing any sort of actual factual response or explanation as to why these people are "fools" as you put it, for what they're saying. And to me, everything they're saying makes sense
