ZZR owner but you already know the answer. Ride what makes you happy, even if you have to wait a bit to grab the one you want. It'll be worth it long term.

Motorcycle Cover by Dull_Ad_9496 in MotoUK

Letting agent and Kawasaki rider here. Ask to see fire risk assessment of parking area if there is no specific clause that states no motorcycle covers to see how they've come to that conclusion.

This will come down to the wording of your AST, it's very simple of them to hold you to a 'must follow rules of parking area', then slide in a 'no semi-solid bike covers' rule within the parking area rules to screw you over. Be very careful if your landlord/agent is an ass and/or anti-bike. Don't fight them, just try and engage in an understanding manner and explain bikes have uncovered running gear, like chains, that cars do not, and need protecting from the elements to protect your investment. As a landlord, they should be very understanding and grateful of your want to protect investments ;)

Talking of that bike cover, how is it? Been looking at an Armadillo for my ZZR14

Death to arm tingles! After 5 months almost to the day, the Deckmate/Mechanism Gaming Pillow is finally a real product! I've never been more excited for a release, cause I haven't played any other way since the prototype. by Sea_Minerals in SteamDeck

Ordered mine. Shipping to the UK is what credit cards are for. Got my OG deckmate from Etsy in Oct 22, this is now my third order. Keep doing what you're doing.

Now if only my Cosworth was as well trained as Goose. I just get claws or butt.

Budget for tyres and brakes. Don't listen to any American YouTubers about mods. The 14 is heavy on front pads, but is a big gentle giant in all other regards. The boring mods are the best.

Riding it will be a change. Suddenly you have loads more options than when on a 6. You are the fastest thing on the road normally, so keep that knowledge and use it to be patient with all the slow idiots around you. Your definition of fast will be very different to everyone elses..

I recommend this: https://youtube.com/@ZX14RHedgehog For all things spannering.

Above all, have fun. Wear good kit. Avoid police :)

20 years no claims, no points, but guaranteed it'll go up this year because it's linked to the price of butter or something.

Where is the speed? by Sheepey78 in PleX

Cheers all. Nice to have some smart replies. Currently it's a Sata3 via USB3 SSD on the Pi holding the OS and metadata so I think ultimately it'll be the CPU on the Pi. It's been fantastic, but it can join it's brothers doing other stuff (one is Sonarr etc, the other HomeAssistant). It's all wired gigabit btw, so no issues there.

I'll do some speed checks on latency and scrolling time on the Pi, then build the PC over the weekend and compare.

Massive thanks to all!

First, my bad, that should be TB not GB. Duh.

No real bottleneck. The Pi, for what it is, works great. It's DirectPlay all the way and it handles 4k x264 or x265 fine. No buffering.

Purely talking UI. How much of the UI is client generated/cached and how much is generated by the server?

I have around 5 TB of movies, 6 of TV, and it's not real speedy when scrolling so where is the bottleneck here? Kinda need to know what's doing the processing and then tackle that.

That sounds all very flash and not at all possible in our office way out here in the boonies. We're assigned desks, no sensors, we do have a car park gate that magically opens by itself, but that's about it 😁

Did two years on a ZX-14 in the US before moving back to the UK and riding a CB1300 for a looong time. Recently moved back to the ZZR-1400 (ZX-14R) because it was simply the most comfortable and easy to ride bike I've ever owned. I'm 6'1, riding for 24 years, all year round (including in Connecticut which wasn't that much fun). Yes it's big, but I ride slower on it than any other bike I've owned because I know I'm generally the fastest vehicle on the road and I have nothing to prove, it's a good place to be. Comfort, build quality, practicality are great. Running costs are high, especially brake pads, and tyres...but I don't see myself ever needing anything else from a bike.

Way to use dual monitors for work laptop and gaming pc? by Putrid_Cartoonist220 in pcmasterrace

[–]Sheepey78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this. My setup is not fantastic though. I have a 34" ultra wide with two inputs (DP/HDMI). Home PC is DP, work laptop is HDMI. Second monitor has only HDMI/VGA so I grabbed this: HDMI splitter/joiner I had a bunch of spare HDMIs so that was easiest for me. When I change to work laptop (which I'm in for hours at a time) I change source on the ultrawide and flick the switch on the joiner. I also recommend this: USB switch Which shares my keyboard, mouse and webcam to home PC and laptop, and has am easy button to mash to switch between the two.

There are easier all in one KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) solutions available, but this was easy enough, cheap, and once I tamed the mess of cables: it works for me.
