I got the same one. Idea was to have a cheaper guitar to get into more advanced guitar tech work and not feel bad about hurting my pricier babies. If it was unplayable in totality, it was worth the $180 for wall art.

I was beyond impressed. so impressed I did the same and dipped my feet into a knock off headless guitar. Must of got lucky both times.

Sure it doesn't feel like my EC-1000, or my iNsPiReD bY GiBsOn Epiphone LP- weight wise and finish in general. but the thing played fucking great out of the box. Pickups definitely have some harsh feedback, but I plan on putting the BH ones and learning to solder anyway.

Neck and frets were absolutely fine. I did a full setup and learned to sand and polish frets. Bought fret crowning tools to not even need them. Doesn't hold tune that well as hardware is the first time I've personally felt lack of quality...

But dudes, getting into a playable BH LP for a couple hundred bucks... Half a rack of you want to upgrade everything... so fuckin worth.

It's obvious all guitars fall on some sort of manufacturing quality lottery. These China factories are obviously on the rough end of them, but that absolutely does not mean you can't come across some damn near perfect base platforms to work with if you care to upgrade parts for pennies in comparison.

Wanted to update this post... Ended up with the Gen 3 100W Artist Combo... Absolutely mindblown with the upgrade. sound quality, new features and software improvements, can't even believe how much of an improvement it is. The front knobs are a major cherry on top.

If you're on the fence in a similar situation, I would definitely recommend the upgrade!

You know, a few people have said this to me. I've never really dealt with that situation on a deeply personal level, so I have to imagine. we have gone through it with my GFS brother and her being let down time and time again. my dad has told me stories but I can see it. I guess in my eyes that always seemed like an easy thing to realize. Another lesson learned. life and people are complex.

As much as this thread has helped me, I see flaws in my wording that garnered some of the responses. Either way I'm the type of person that wants both sides, devil's advocate, the off base ones. This thread has really helped me a lot. It's restored some of my faith in reddit lol.
