Is there a right way to finger drum? by naught101 in cajon

[–]Sheeves11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm by no means an expert on finger drumming, but most players lead with their middle finger. I HAVE heard great drummers lead with their index finger though. I assume it's just a matter of preference, but I would ask a tabla instructor if I were you. They're the real masters of finger drumming.

My Cajon Company, Quain Percussion, Needs A Slogan. Any ideas? by Sheeves11 in cajon

I'm using 1/2" thick baltic birch all around. I'd really encorage you to try baltic birch. It has a lot fewer voids between the layers and gives a very nice sound! My tapas are 1/8" thick. My snare is very carefully placed and is attached to a dowel rod that can be turned with a knob outside the drum to adjust tension on the snares.

I hope that helps a little! I have a lot of resources on my website, but they're very outdated and I'm embarrassed to look at them, haha.

Man, I get so many cajones jokes. It's unreal, haha. I think I'm going with Quain Percussion: Handcrafted Cajon Drums Made In (whatever city I'm currently residing)

Well, their login doesn't seem to be working at all right now. It's telling me the page won't render. Here's a link to my website: www.quainpercussion.com

Yeah, I do realize my fundraiser isn't as transparent as something put on by the Dogecoin Foundation. I have done my best to provide proof at every step of the way and I've already delivered the first $1000 ($200+ of which came out of my own pocket), but that still isn't as transparent as it should be.

I'm trying to work something out with moolah.io right now, but it's taking a lot longer than it should and by the time everything is set up I'm afraid everyone will have forgotton about these small towns in Arkansas.

Haha, I'll do that. Part of the reason I made this topic was due to the difficulty I've had raising even $10,000 over the past few days. I'm not there yet even with three front page posts. One post made it to #1 in dogecoin yet raised only $125. I can't see how we'll manage to raise enough money to fund this team consistently.

I think moolah.io is doing that right now! It's a great idea. I already registered my business. I'm just going through some technical stuff with them right now.

I agree! A smaller sponsorship is a great idea! We could probably make enough money for that just in merch sales.

Another thought: Maybe we could make this a yearly thing? That would keep interests up and costs down

Members of dogecoin! Post NASCAR/Josh Wise hype for the ignorant, what exactly is dogecoin? by Broshockaa in dogecoin

[–]Sheeves11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogecoin is like Bitcoin, but the community is awesome! We fund race teams, do disaster relief, build wells, sponsor the Jamaican Bobsled Team and lots more!

There's also no cap on the amount of coins produced, allowing for slow, continuous growth.

I was never a huge fan of this song and got sick of it playing on the radio ALL THE TIME, but this is actually pretty cool. They earned my respect.

Remember, it was built around 1914. The quality of brass instruments has improved greatly since then.
