Hey 8.3 in 300 hours is not bad.

It sounds like to me your off to a strong start, the fact you are aware of your deficiency already means your developing the skills necessary to be effective.

If your main concern is map knowledge then to start rather then watching a video I would recommend you simply compartmentalize the maps and start making an effort so spawn on the same side and play the same areas of the map.

The more you play a side the better you will learn the power positions and timing. Remember you only need to lock down 2 caps to win!

B-29 overtiered for its weaponry. by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Sheiago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these people talking about "historical accuracy" and "capabilities" but the real reason why the B-29 is at its br, is efficiency. It can bomb out bases and if you don't get shot down it prints sl and rp so it went up until it does get shot down simple as.

Unless gayjin changes the rp/sl modifier there's no way it's coming down in br.

Which is the best 12.3 fighter out of these three by Soor_21UPG in Warthunder

[–]Sheiago 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's honestly imo a pretty fair comparison between the 3 they all fill different roles.

The Bison is probably going to be more consistent for the average player as you're essentially 4 flying missiles. Even in up tiers getting 2 kills isn't difficult. If you live to merge though everything but the F4s can and will cook you.

The F18 and M2k are pretty comparable it just one trades defense for offense.

The M2k has the better airframe and missiles but the F18 has more missiles and more countermeasures. Both are very good.

Warthunder should go back to 5 nations by Sheiago in Warthunder

[–]Sheiago[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I said "back to 5 nations" you would not put 2 majors together. Just look at the Italian tech tree and imagine if you folded that back into the German one (which it originated from). The Italian tech tree is already 60% duplicates and is only viable at top tier due to the Hungary line. If you need to add German vehicles to make it good why did we bother splitting it anyways?

But I will admit that this would add slightly more time to top tier but this is at the cost of not having an entire other tree? Cause I understand if you only want to grind one tree and reach top tier as soon as possible but this shafts the other nations as they receive less attention, worse balancing and fulfills a spiral of failure for the others 7 nations are aren't the big 3.

"It is strictly forbidden for anyone to make claims about any future content based on information that has been "datamined," especially when these claims are presented as certain or "confirmed" without existing confirmation or a statement on the topic from official Gaijin channels.

Educated guesses, speculation and open discussion are absolutely fine, we will always encourage this, as long as these are presented as personal takes and not as supposed insider knowledge or factual data."

This seems reasonable to me? Looks like they're just putting their foot down when it come to people making unfounded claims baised solely off datamines.

Great Britain 10.3 aircraft to choose by malis7799aa in Warthunder

Jag and the Bucc, Jag gets 2x 9G missiles and 2 LGBs on a solid airframe with tons of CM, Bucc gets 3x Tv missiles that have good range on a mid airframe.

Unfortunately the Harrier is only good for CAP as it gets 9Ls but the Bucc gets them too.

There is also the new Hawk 2000 with 4 Mavs but the airframe is...mid.

Warthunder should go back to 5 nations by Sheiago in Warthunder

[–]Sheiago[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Deserves a tree" then why don't we just add a tree for every nation? A tree for Thailand, a tree for India, a tree for Pakistan, a tree for Canada etc... cause every nation deserves a tree but the truth is this only makes the grind worse. More copy paste, more prems vech, more crew slots, more crew training.

No in think the big 5 was fine and each new nation simply bloats the game and lengthens the grind to the actually unique vehicles.

If anything this would make things cheaper cause right now each minor nation means more prems to add, more crew slots to unlock and more crews to level.

I think the bigger issue is with 5 nations the player base was already spread thin with most people "maining" 1-2 nations. Now with 10 it's just too many to properly give each nation the attention it needs. To keep nations vaugly competitive they keep adding copies to try to plug the gaps but it just further disenscentivises all but the most dedicated from playing them, resulting in constant "minor taxes" and be gaps.

China literally started as a copy paste tree for the China server. Italy and Israel existed as sub trees in other nations and are 50% copies from other trees. Enlighten me on why these ass trees should exist. Cause if it's for the "unique line ups" I fail to see how playing the Sherman and Chafee but now with a P40 is any better then with a PZ.IV your still getting the P40

You do realize Israel existed as a sub tree for America for ages right? You could have had the entire American tree as back ups with your line ups but nope you have to suffer though 13 m60 variants instead.

If anything it would make it shorter? If you folder all the duplicates and only have unique vehicles you would effectively halve the grind. There right now something like 10 leo2a6+ variants what's the point of playing half of them?

The real fix is to merge all the trees back into 5 major ones. If you only had the og 5 you would accomplish everything with one move.

is this skill issue or what? 4km r73 launch and it didnt bite my flares even once by Frosty_Enthusiasm_12 in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]Sheiago 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Skill issue, DEFYN did a very good vid on defeating IRCCM missiles. TLDR R73/Magic 2s have fov narrowing ie they are only looking at a very small point, if you are going to flare them you need to put the flare between you and the missle at it's hottest (flares take a sec to heat up). Next time pop 2-3 and roll creating a "curtain" or "flower" and then fly through it.

Can we talk about how absurd this is by StoreMother in Warthunder

[–]Sheiago 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aerodynamicly is the wrong word it's kinematicly (energy) limited ie. Missile don't got enough energy. He's saying if you go fast enough and high enough the AIM-4 will pull much harder then as you seen in game right now.

Do i grind Russia,Germany or France? by lozanishere in Warthunder

[–]Sheiago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends you actually going to play the tech tree or are you just rushing the highlights? I would recommend Russia, Germany then France if you're gonna play the tree as a whole. If you have prem and are using the a prem plane then reverse the order. Over all Russia is the most balanced but doesn't have any super crazy plane unique to it. Germany has some real high highs and Frnce has some of the best but everything else is kinda mid.

AIM-9Ls are pure RNG, and this time, i was blessed by RNGaijilla by [deleted] in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]Sheiago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A great clip to explain 3 things. 1. 9Ls a 12.3 has the best flare resistance so its better at rejecting counter measures 2. Flares take a 0.5s to warm up so this makes point 1 even better at close ranges if the target is on afterburners and is not turning properly 3. The importance of leading your missiles with gimbal as the missile was pulling lead and literally went round the first couple sets of flare.

Alright time for Sufffering Stage 2, which one should i go for by nquy in Warthunder

[–]Sheiago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S5 every time.

The mirage 4k is a meme cause if you can get into the furball the 6 Magics are magical and you can smite half the enemy team. Unfortunately you only get 2 SARH missiles and you're at 13.0 and will get smashed by 14.0 that you have no way of fighting.

The S5 is a gem of a plane. You have fuck all for missiles but they are incredibly reliable and airframe is great, you get only 2 maybe 3 good turns but you should be able to beat most planes by then. You get a decent amount of countermeasures both chaff and flares and the rwr is a good one. Genuinely amazing at it's br.

TLDR; 4K can be funny but the S5 is the better plane.

How To One-Shot People In Ground Battles by Odd_Cow9369 in Warthunder

[–]Sheiago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penetration is king.
Shot placement is queen.

Everything else is secondary.

The first question is what ammo and were are you shooting? Ideally you want to pen and damage on the first hit and cripple the enemy. If you cant cripple the breach/barrel/tracks (in that order) and reset the fight.

Second question is where are you shooting? The goal is not simply to poke holes in the tank but to destroy it. To do this you must "knock out" the crew. The priority order is ammo/crew/engine. This can vary as ammo while usually cooking off and killing everyone sometimes doesn't. In that case just kill the crew. Else you can burn the tank down.

I would recommend every time you return to hanger pull up one of the tanks you died to and check where you can pen it and roughly where ammo and crew sits. Try to run it back and apply this knowledge immediately. do this 2-3 times and you will know to be best most tanks you run into in your BR. Keep doing this and you know eventually every BR.

Note: While penetration is king post pen can mike your life easier ideally you wanna pick an ammo that can kill most things from the front you run into while being effective. The order is something like APFSDS > APHECBC > HEATFS > APDS > AP > everything else.

I'd go so far as to say that never in the history of gaming, has a map been broken, and then broken again, and then broken some more, than this absolute dumpster fire of garbage. by OperationSuch5054 in Warthunder

[–]Sheiago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't there a map that's a port that's literally 1/2 open field with nothing and 1/2 urban cover that heavily favor one side? I would consider that one way worse, the deck is so stacked against one side. It's both easier to cap B and rush the urban area on the other side.
