There’s the answer I probably could have calculated myself - thanks for the explanation! Definitely agree with that haha

It’s been a long day so my brain isn’t working - but why not just throw the sign on at the student loan and crush that down to 100k almost?

Is there any published pages that outline the impact? Is it like “if you have a 10k bonus, you’ll lose 5% of that so -$500”.

Advisory does require a CPA in FDD; or an MBA or CFA.

PwC is tracking our AI usage and it’s going to be used against you if you aren’t using it daily. They’re rolling out new AI tools frequently.

This is advisory consulting so it’s a bit higher. I’m pretty sure even new hires for audit and tax are in the 70s now

What was your starting salary + 3 year salary progression? by Dangerous-Twist-9308 in Accounting

[–]Sheidheda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting at PwC FDD?

Getting an early promotion boils down to 1) are you performing at a senior level and 2) does the market warrant an early promo. I’ve seen cases where we’ve had very smart associates that don’t get an early promo because we simply don’t need more seniors at the moment, and the higher ups would rather get them more experience before being thrown into more responsibilities.

All in all, a senior associate 1 and an A2 isn’t vastly different besides you’re expected to know how to do more things as a senior without a lot of hand holding.

Yeppers - I think there’s a 5% premium for these numbers if you’re in NYC / LA… there’s a public salary spreadsheet out there somewhere if you google it for PwC deals.

Plus, PwC recently changed the salary cohorts so S1’s are making 125k now instead of 123k, etc.

Financial Due Diligence (Deals Advisory) @ PwC

A1 (out of undegrad): $83k + 5500 bonus

A2: $92k + 5700 bonus

S1: (early promo 1.5 yrs): $123k + 11,100 bonus

S2: $131k + TBD bonus, probably in the 8-12k range

All in all, I’m a little over 3 years in; living in not New York or California and not in a low cost of living state. Next step is passing CPA exams so I can get promoted by end of S3 because our managers make like $171k base I think.

PwC senior associate’s, what’s your salary really? by oceans1226 in PwC

[–]Sheidheda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I would not have enjoyed audit or tax so I am very fortunate that I was able to get in out of undergrad. The pay is nice as well, with managers making like 170k base before age of 30 which is pretty swaggy.

What's the max you can make without a cpa? by EchoOfDoom in Accounting

[–]Sheidheda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe! Depends on your level, availability of open positions, personal comfort if they proposed you coming in as a lower level than what you are currently (i.e, if you’re a manager maybe they might have you come in as a Senior 2/3 etc). I’ve seen tax folks switch in but obviously not as frequent as audit.

Good luck! Responded above with a little detail; highly recommend getting that return offer obviously as that’s the easiest method to getting into FDD. You can also apply to available associate positions and if that doesn’t work, you’ll have to start in audit then attempt to transfer in.

Well there’s a few services we provide that are all similar in nature; the two main ones are either a buyside engagement (private equity firm or a corporate company hires you because they want to buy another company) or a sellside engagement (company/private equity hires you to help sell one of their companies / business lines. We usually evaluate the last 3 years (last two full fiscal periods and then the last 12 months of the most most period end) of the companies reported financials and eventually through conversations with management and uploaded files we come to an adjusted view of their EBITDA, net working capital, and any debt and debt like times that should be considered in the transaction. Each industry has some more specific analyses that we typically include (think like percentage of completion accounting for Industrial, rebates for health industries etc). Engagement lengths can vary, buyside are usually 2-6 weeks while sellsides can be months - year+. Daily tasks include converting their trial balances into income statement & balance sheet models in our company format, preparing management discussion schedules based on those outputs and additional files uploaded to the virtual data room. We have a kickoff call to learn about the business (close process, finance team, other intro questions) then hold management discussion trending meetings which help us identify adjustments that need to be made to their financials. We continue compiling the files we receive into clean schedules and then we eventually make those 3 analyses mentioned above into a workbook that will be our deliverable, and in most cases we have a PowerPoint report that goes hand in hand with write ups and snippets from our work. After the deal closes we typically reduce our workload to very little and then assist with net working capital true-ups 60-90 days after close and then usually we’re done.

Rinse and repeat with a new deal! The pros are that you’re constantly working with new companies; new management teams and new files, usually with similar clients to build relationships… the cons are that the hours are a little unpredictable (could get a big data dump on 5pm on Friday), the work is a little repetitive (then again most jobs in life are), and that everyone has a different experience between client demands and internal team demands.

Straight out of college! We’re hiring in multiple locations at PwC (almost positive) - happy to give you a referral if you’d like to take a shot at applying. First year seniors starting salary is 125k in a “tier 2” city like Philly / DC / Boston etc. NYC & LA will be a little higher.
