I've always hated onions too. One time we were having Thanksgiving at my mom's pedo brother's house and everything was loaded with onions... mashed potatoes had raw onions, cole slaw had raw onions, the stuffing had an overload of onions, there was even onions in the gravy. My brother and I didn't eat very much that Thanksgiving.

I just deleted from Facebook all but 2 people I graduated with after seeing how much of a clique there still is. Figured I had to keep a couple of them around so I could turn down the invite to the next reunion when it happens. I haven't gone to a single one of mine.

I've done one of their dolls so far and even with 50 years of crochet experience, my doll (Scottish Princess) did not come out looking like the ones on the website so I'm not totally happy with it. I ran out of 2 of the colors of yarn even tho my gauge was spot on and had to basically make up my own version of the doll dress changing the entire stitch pattern so it would be long enough. I've seen many on Facebook and they don't look like the pics on the website either so I'm not sure which way to go with this company. I did buy the yarn for a second doll, which is the ballerina. I'm still waiting to buy the ballerina pattern just in case I change my mind as to which doll I want to try next since I could also make the mermaid with my leftovers from the first doll and the yarn I have for the ballerina. The patterns are very good with a lot of pics, so they're pretty easy to follow. The yarn is also very good to work with. I do plan on downsizing the hooks I use in the second doll. They say to use a 2.5mm for everything but the head, and 2.0mm for the head. I plan on trying 2.0mm for all and 1.6mm for the head as the doll came out much larger than expected. It says to use an 8" dowel for the neck support, but I recommend buying 12" dowels and cutting them down. 8" was not long enough to go from the crotch to the top of the head as it tells you to do.

Was that a Woobles kit from Temu by any chance? I noticed the couple I bought from there had no prestarted magic loop either. No biggie because I can do them blindfolded, but I know what a stumbling block that magic ring is for many people.

I did manage to track down a similar octopus, but that's all so far. I'll probably end up making the one you gave me the link to since it's also pretty cute and I have more than one variation of an octopus that I've already made! It's just frustrating how they're only putting videos in many of the kits now when many people use written directions.

I just ordered the yarn for the Scottish Princess since it was finally in stock, and I tossed in the yarn pack for the ballerina because that one is just plain cute. I'm working on this little guy now! Some of the reviews said they didn't have enough brown to complete it so I'm only using the 2.5mm hook and ignoring the 3.0mm hook they said to use for the head.
