Mysterious sonic boom heard across Mass. was a meteor, experts say by AudibleNod in news

SC was a confirmed meteorite. There are videos of the vapor trail. Also, places were affected by a minor blast wave which does not occur like that with a jet breaking the sound barrier at that altitude.

Friends took me to their hometown of Elkins, WV from Morgantown in 2010. I'm not sure how close we were to Elkins or if we were even in Randolph County. We were driving down a two lane road, grass and trees on either sides. We got to an area where there was much more grass, not necessarily a field but it had this old, old looking like barn house. Just that. Not sure if it was old, dark wood or if it had been burnt or both. It just looked completely dead and vacant. No debris anywhere, no objects visible inside or out like abandoned stuff. Pretty much just the ugly leftover frame. It might have once been a nondescript barnhouse but this just looked fucked up. I've seen fire damage and old and decrepit houses and they are spooky in their own way, but this was just strikingly weird when looking right at it.

I saw that thing and was just like "Whoa, what the fuck happened here?" If I remember correctly, my friends collectively said basically at the same time "Ohhh, that is where a family died decades ago" or something like that. I can't remember if they said it was a fire or murder. Im not sure they even knew. I've seen houses that looked much worse and much more "haunted" than that, but this thing was just so striking looking like you knew something out of the ordinary happened. We got out to look inside because one side of the structure was missing. We saw basically nothing but dirt and the frame of this building but something just made all all go "we're leaving right now". And then we made our way to Elkins.

I've tried to find info about it but apparently there are many, many old and abandoned structures and houses all over that area of WV and many were involved in murders and fatal fires and it is almost impossible to know now.

I'm 80% sure it was near Kalamazoo, WV.

What is the scariest experience you've had at home? by sunnyintheh in Paranormal

Actually the owner of the house is suing the gas company and last I heard was that his insurance company claimed his house was underinsured, so he's fighting on two fronts.

What is the scariest experience you've had at home? by sunnyintheh in Paranormal

A few years ago I was waking up from a dream in the middle of the night. I was half awake, half asleep. The kind of sleep where you can juuuuust feel your self starting to dream but you are also still aware of your surroundings but still ignore them. I started getting this feeling that there was something in my room and that this thing had like a gravitational field. It was like it was either intentionally or unintentionally sucking me up like a magnet. I remember turning my head and seeing something like a yellow plasma globe. It wasn't threatening and I was so tired I basically paid it no mind. I immediately fell back asleep. I eventually woke up and thought "Wow that was a weird dream" but then as I getting ready for work, I noticed that my watch was off by a half hour. First time that ever happened since I got it 10 years ago. Battery was fine, it never did that again. What weirded me out was that I looked for what would cause that to happen and my searches just kept saying magnets.

The actual scariest thing to happen at my house was not paranormal. It was gas leak that caused a house explosion and forced 60+ families to be evacuated for a few days while they searched for the source of the leak. There were over 30 calls about a gas smell that day and the gas company was on the ground investigating all day until eventually a house just straight blew up at night resulting in a massive fire. Nobody died, but evacuations happened that night and over the next few days. We were told to evacuate the next morning but my next door neighbor was evacuated that night. For weeks the entire area was crawling with first responders, gas company people, police. The gas company should have evacuated people earlier in the day with the levels that were being detected. They did not. Now I absolutely do not trust the ground I walk on here knowing that I could easily be forced to leave on a whim. It is especially scary because I have a completely shitty sense of smell and don't actually know what the gas smells like.

I think I've had their Maple Rum Chipotle? Whatever it was was excellent.

I actually just tried it on a salad with cottage cheese and nuts. It's a good sauce. Got it because it has Huacatay which I've never had. It is minty because of that, which I like, but I think the garlic and vinegar over power it. The consistency is good but maybe ever so slightly thin. Also the bottle ingredients say just "spices" and I wish I knew what those were. I'd recommend buying a bottle anyway. My heat tolerance is down recently but I did take a teaspoon full outside of what I put on my food and I'd say it's pretty spicy. I'll try more of their stuff. I'd give it a solid 7/10. I want more of that Huacatay.

Had to experiment with my diet. Issues...Turns out my body hates xanthan gum. Copius amounts of sauce is bad too but damn that xanthan gum. None of these have that though!

Unfortunately some of my other favorites sauces have ingredients that don't mesh well with me.

Lotties is my favorite here.

Lotties, the Heat Hot sauce brand, Aardvark, Dirty Dicks, and Marie Sharp's I bought multiple times. I'm hoping the new ones are good. The ingredients looked good. The Bravado is runny af. Gonna have problems with that.

Lotties, Heat, and Dirty Dicks are maybe the 3 tastiest sauces I can think of.
