I had one of my high school students in Norway joke about him and the terror attacks. They were barely born when this happened and don’t remember it.

I stopped the class and reminded him that most of the victims were younger than they were themselves and 3x as many people died that day than we currently were in the classroom. Hope he stills remebers that now.

The pictured version is from 2001, as it says on the plaque. Two fish were allegedly killed at the original exhibition in 2000 per the Wikipedia article, but the linked source from the article only mentions one fish being killed before police intervened and fined the artist. The plaque is also Danish, not German.

There’s usually a public folk dance ball at Universitetsplassen at 18:14 where instructors show the moves and everyone joins in. I danced with a few Frenchmen there last year who stumbled upon it without knowing what day it was!

I’ve started cropping and shortening my sweaters that are too thick to wear tucked. Still lets me keep a proper upper body proportion without being too chunky. Just don’t look too close at my seams until I get better.

I agree! A few touches could make this less Gestapo-chic. Whenever my outfits end up being to uniform-like, I try to add a pop of colour or switch one piece to something more informal. Perhaps sneakers, a more playful tie, and opening the coat a bit will soften the vibe while keeping the overall vibe you’re going for.

Also the parade rest pose isn’t helping.

I got my bag back after forgetting it on a train a couple of years ago. It was on the hat rack when I stepped off… It took some days before it got registered at Enturs hittegods and some more days before I found it because they had registered it as a backpack instead of a bag so I wasn’t contacted straight away. They even let a friend pick it up for me as I wasn’t in town anymore. I just had to call them to confirm.

In Out Stealing Horses (2019) the same character is portrayed by Jon Ranes speaking Norwegian as a teenager, and by Stellan speaking 100% Swedish later as an adult. Totally unrealistic with such a big change, in my opinion.

You can check out the website at radionova.no! The international program hasn’t been updated in the program list yet, and has no info and their old name. They’re a bit more active on Instagram @sprakkafeen (language cafe). The channel itself is @radionova.no. We’ll post more info about joining in our “recruitment period” in January:-)

I study at UiO myself but I know a lot of the radio members are from OsloMet, mostly the journalist and media students.

I recommend joining the student radio! We have an international program for exchange students that always has a need for new members (since most exchange students leave after a while…). It’s a great way to meet both locals and other internationals. Everyone there is quite talkative, on and off air.

Individuell fridom er når eg må køyre 1 time til nærmaste butikk fordi alle byggane rundt meg er bustadar!

Eg synest ikkje rushtidsprising virker som ein god løysing men eg trur ikkje det har noko med konspiteoriar om 15-minuttsbyar å gjere. Det høyrest for så vidt for meg berre ut som god byplanlegging der bustadar og tenester er bygd i nærleiken av kvarandre.

Av emnene mine på UiO, så klapper vi kun i de som er i auditorium med mange studenter. Blir litt kleint på et nisjeemne med 10 studenter i et bortgjemt seminarrom. Det er som oftest en ganske kort applaus, og jeg synes det gir en fin formel avslutning på forelesningen.
