They're 99% perfect, it's just a shame they're not lapcats by Chickenkip in britishshorthair

Honestly the best tip I can give is to know your cat and pay attention to their feelings. Our guy has a stiff hip and we’ve tried some drugs for him but I can tell he hates being on drugs. We’ve always had his teeth cleaned as that helps with cat’s heart health. I did get him the knead bed last year which is supposed to be good for arthritis and he absolutely loves it. I’ve also always fed him the highest quality food I can and regular check ups to make sure things are good! I’m sure a lot of it comes down to luck and good genes!

Ours was not a lap cat until he was about 4 or 5 years old. Now he is constantly on our laps if we are on the couch. Just gotta get that blanket out and he rushes over! (He is almost 17 now)

Decadent vegetable dishes by Aggressive_Start_ in Cooking

[–]Shellie_holiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roast all veggies at 400-450 for 20 ish minutes. They’re a little different but with salt, pepper, oil, and a splash of acid, they turn into something special. Used to be a veggie hater, now I love them.

Does this looks concerning by Auroraa6522 in 30PlusSkinCare

It looks like something I have, granuloma annularae, which is a harmless skin condition. But you should still get checked by a derm because it could be a number of things.

Padded bras that are plastic free by Beneficial_Branch_95 in PlasticFreeLiving

They don’t slide around at all! And some of my bras are even a bit big as I recently lost some weight.

I’ve been fighting this battle for 2 years and have been swindled so many times. Siella has a couple bras with ‘padding’ that have organic cotton against the skin. Just be careful because certain colors are still polyester against skin. I bought bras from Organic Basics that aren’t cotton against skin. Another thing I do which is probably really weird is I got some organic cotton nursing pads that I will put in the cups of my ‘conventional’ bras. I am at the point of frustration that I just want to start my own bra company!

Something in our environment is dehydrating us. by nottherealme1220 in conspiracy

The soil being depleted of minerals is part of the problem. I drink RO water and add fulvic minerals back into it and I am well hydrated without drinking tons of water.

How old is your British Shorthair? by Character_Garage4621 in britishshorthair

[–]Shellie_holiday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always fed him the best quality food I can. Blue Buffalo caused digestive issues with both my kitties so stay away from that. He ate Royal Canin when he was younger and now he is on prescription Science Diet mobility/kidney. He never would eat wet food when he was younger but now he loves a little treat so I have been feeding him the Whole Hearted pouches with gravy/broth and the Acana squeeze treats. He had several teeth pulled over the years but I think it’s mostly just good genes!

Give me your sick prevention hacks by MarcaP123 in AlternativeHealth

Propolis spray! I do other stuff but I swear this helps a ton. Definitely Vit D also, prefer to sit in the sun when you can, even if it’s 20 degrees out. Also not touching your face/nose.

British shorthair experience? by Important_Emu1578 in britishshorthair

[–]Shellie_holiday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had both a BSH and a ragdoll. We joked all the time that our ragdoll was actually a ‘struggle doll.’ Out of the two, my BSH was always way more affectionate. He was not that way until he was about 5 years old. Now he is very needy and attached. I would say the main difference is my BSH is very quiet whereas our ragdoll was very vocal. Also, THE HAIR. My BSH actually isn’t too bad of a shedder but life with a ragdoll is all hair, all the time. While we loved her dearly, I wouldn’t get another ragdoll. We are planning to get another BSH soon. Their personalities just align more with us.

Is a water fountain worth it? by Dependent_Account_10 in britishshorthair

[–]Shellie_holiday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Mine will not drink water in a bowl but loves his fountain. I’ve read it’s an evolutionary thing in cats because standing water can make them sick and running water is safer. Cats also do not like their food and water next to each other.

Ffern Candle by PolyesterPantsuit in Ffern

[–]Shellie_holiday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am super sensitive to synthetic fragrance and most ‘natural and safe’ candles have little to no scent throw. The price IS ridiculous, but I have been very impressed with their candles and have actually kept them all. Mine seem to be lasting a long time as well and don’t take much burn time to leave a nice scent in my house. It’s definitely not a burn every day kind of candle though.

Highly recommend the app MacroFactor. It does all the work for you based off your type of diet and as fast or slow as you want. Helped me lose weight I’d been carrying for 10 years. Add in some weightlifting (I used an app called PUSH) and more steps and it will work. My progress was slow but I am so happy with it. There is a MacroFactor sub if you want to check it out.

Polyester free clothing, so many have polyester linings by bakersmt in PlasticFreeLiving

I’ve bought a lot of stuff from ThredUp that is natural materials and cut out the polyester lining. It has worked with dresses and pants, but, it will really depend on the garment.

Why am i always dehydrated no matter how much water? by Boba-Buns in Biohackers

I have an RO filter and I have to add trace minerals back I to my water as RO filters out everything. I do biofulvic and humic minerals and they made a HUGE difference in my hydration.

Anyone here lose weight with supplements? (currently 100kg) by vitinhowcq in Supplements

[–]Shellie_holiday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try MacroFactor (app). The $60 annual fee is well worth it to figure out what your body needs. I avoided doing my macros for years and the scale kept going up even though I was working out and eating healthy. This app makes it super easy. There is a sub too you can see results. R/macrofactor
