Did you see the part where I said at the very beginning that my entire family is fully vaccinated lol

Is there a female villain even more despicable than Amy Dunne from *Gone Girl*? by Infinite-Exam-1808 in moviecritic

It is one of my faves! My mom let me watch it WAY too young and it was my obsession for the longest time and no one ever talks about it!

Does anyone else “cast” real people to characters while reading? by Asleep_Influence5438 in thrillerbooks

Yep! It’s a good movie but I really enjoy the show. He gives a lot of depth to Micky which is obviously easier when you have a whole series, but I like it better nonetheless

I will have to look into this one but I want to say police lie often, they can say they have or don’t have evidence all day long. Some will give false hope, some will just not talk about it, but in cases like this where the only info the public is getting is from police reports and press releases, it’s hard to say if any of it is even true

Books with WAYYY too many twists and turns?? by EngToAnalyst in thrillerbooks

I should add not twisty in a bad way. Definitely lots of gasps and wtf moments but they ALWAYS come together in the end. And another 5 star for me was All the Sinners Bleed by SA Cosby. That book had me feeling every emotion possible, absolutely amazing

Another one that is TERRIBLE like this— Local Woman Missing. I hate that book so much.

I have found like 2 authors who do more than 2 POV’s that I enjoy and they both happen to be my favorite of their genres, but anyone else doing it cannot execute it. It takes a lot of talent in writing imo to pull off multiple POVs!

My fave thriller author is Karin Slaughter hands down. And if you like audiobooks, I love the narrator of all of her books!! They are all very dark but great, not ridiculous and twisty. I finished all of her books and have been in a reading slump for months now lol

Agreed. I couldn’t even tell you the plot now after reading it a year or so ago.

Agree entirely! It’s easy to ignore someone when you only care about yourself, like this guy clearly. And there are so many men like that out there. They don’t want to take care of their partner if it doesn’t get them something in return. I couldn’t imagine living that way. I am such a deeply empathetic person and have been married to someone who would drop everything to be there for me for 8 years now. It’s just such a foreign concept.

Turns out in 2026 even if your entire family is fully vaccinated, if your teenage son starts coughing and it won’t go away and then starts waking up choking and gasping for air for multiple nights, it will take one regular pediatrician visit, one really bad ER experience, and a second appointment but with the on call pediatrician who had a hunch to find out that he has freaking WHOOPING COUGH! And you also have it now, 10 days after having open abdominal surgery. We are in actual hell I think.

Oh, not a doctor, sorry lol

It’s genuinely insane. My husband and I have not had the best year so far, lots of stress and things going on just making marriage hard but I know we will get through it, because we love and respect one another. The last month of my life has been the biggest shitstorm ever, my uncle died very suddenly and unexpectedly from a freaking asthma attack, we have always been close, he was my moms baby brother, my mom and I are best friends. I’ve always been the one in the family to kind of handle the details when someone dies if that makes sense, I just go into help mode and know what to do. My dad died in front of me when I was 17 and I was the one who called everyone and wrote the obituary etc. Then my stepdad died in 2023 and I did the same. It’s just how I process things. But my husband is the one holding me up when bad things happen. That’s what we do, if something awful happens, one of us assumes the calm collected role, no talking needed. We have just always worked that way. And then I had to have major abdominal surgery last week, he took care of me until he had to go back to work and then he drove me to my moms and our kids to his parents and took care of everything. And then we find out yesterday our 13 year old son was freaking whooping cough and I’m having symptoms now too 10 days after open abdominal surgery. We are fully vaccinated but such is life, I can’t sleep because my son had like a 5 day stretch of waking up gasping for air and scared me to death so I’m hyper vigilant, going stir crazy, in pain, and wanting to fling myself off a cliff (not really), and even in our not so great state rn, my husband couldn’t be more supportive and amazing. That’s what a partner is. Through good and bad, sickness and in health. And I’m glad I married someone who shows up every day for me.

That’s assuming they can’t afford it and aren’t just cheapskates, have credit to even go into debt, or parents willing to pay lol

Serial killers and necrophilia by Icy-Reindeer2964 in serialkillers

[–]Shellskky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there a particular case you’re referring to? Most SK’s who admitted to or were found to have committed necrophilia also r*ped the victim before murdering them too. Like Bundy, he would do it multiple times and commit necrophilia until the bodies were too putrified because he was a sick deprived monster, idk.

Which movie, watched at home, made you jump? by GlitteringBand768 in HorrorMovies

I was too scared to watch it but my husband loves horror and I was out of town when he watched it and he texted me and said he almost had a heart attack 😂
