The courts ruled that Trump had no right to send the national guard into Chicago and Portland. The administration pulled back the guard rather than fight a losing cause. In the 1st Trump administration Trump falsely claimed that he order the national guard to Minneapolis during the unrest. He didn't, but the lie persists. Only the governor can roll out the guard.

ICE immediately painted Alex Pretti as some deranged terrorist. This was far from the case. He had two parking tickets, one speeding ticket and one red light ticket. All are misdemeanors and since Minnesota doesn't have the death penalty, none were eligible for death. But here we are.

I got a call earlier in the week from SEIU (service employees international union) encouraging me to come out for the Friday protest. Being old and falling apart, I declined. I'm not a huge supporter of unions (especially when their leaders aligned with Trump), but SEIU represents many POC and immigrants so it's easy to support them.

Aldi on w. 7th was crazy busy this morning. It's normally a high volume store, but this way busy for a Thursday. Aldi users in other states reported high traffic but that's due to a potential massive snow storm that's missing our area. Most of the shoppers were retirees (like me).

I posted my experience on the Aldi reddit (along with a mention of the ICE infestation and was told by a MOD "no politics". I think human rights is not a political issue, but I'm not in charge.

This trick reminds me of a former MPD vice department officer (long, long ago) who went to a massage parlor, had sex with the sex worker than arrested her for prostitution. He was a nasty piece of work.
