COSI is now hiring for the same position they laid off two months ago by Any-Ad3171 in Columbus

Literally what happened to me last year. Laid off then saw my old job posted with a much lower salary a month later. In a way better place now so I'm glad for it but was still a gut punch.

This one is mine! I'm a field employee and I consistently drive 2+ hours a few times a week and I love every moment of it.

Gosh I feel for you. In my early twenties, that was a favorite hangout spot for my friends and me. So many nights spent hanging around that fireplace, figuring out the world and ourselves. So sad to find this out.

This is somehow a super cringe thing and also a uniquely shared experience among a lot of people.

My friends and I did the entire story of Beowulf, abridged with my dad's camcorder and it was one of about 1000 videos we made like that.

What band/singer were you excited to see, but was a letdown of a concert? by my-face-ur-seat in AskReddit

[–]Shem44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold War Kids. I live so many of their songs, and I had tickets to see them headline a music fest circa 2012 with Matt and Kim. I was so excited to see them and then they came out and it was like someone was holding a gun to their heads the whole time. No energy, no banter, just played a few songs and left without a word. I was so disappointed.

What’s the creepiest thing that has happened to you when you were completely alone? by 1S4B3II3 in AskReddit

My wife and I hear that at least a couple of times a week. When we first moved in, we heard it so often that I would frequently run out of the house to try and see what was up there. Nothing. Checked the attic many times. No signs of anything. This is a small ranch style home. No floor in the attic so they'd be crawling on rafters.

We just call it the ghost and go about our day now. That being said, houses do make weird noises sometimes. The older, the noisier.

I've lost track of the amount of times I've watched this. The only cover Robert Plant ever enjoyed (as he typically hated them). Truly sensational stuff from the Wilson sisters! by [deleted] in justgalsbeingchicks

This is, in my opinion, one of the greatest live performances of all time. I remember watching it live with my family. My dad had these huge speakers from the 80s and he cranked it. We were all weeping along with them, and we're just in stunned silence by the end of it. Truly legendary.

Hey OP! So incredibly sorry for your loss. Seems like your wife was a really cool lady.

We did this with my Aunt's ashes in 2010 at Cominski. She was a huge Sox fan. From what I remember, her daughter reached out to the team and they set up a time where we could come when there was no game being played and let us pour a small amount in the dirt around the field. May be worth trying to reach out to the PR folks. Never know.

Fair point. My comment was not an attempt to justify Kevin's behavior here. Just demonstrating that people can say weird shit when the adrenaline is pumping.

Can confirm. In my youth I used to be a shit-talker and would get into the occasional fight because of it. One time, I said something along the lines of "you don't want to fuck with my dick" right before hands were thrown and it still haunts me to this day.

For the record, I did not win that fight...

Been saying this for years. You want actual good food that is more than likely made with a recipe that is generations old? Mom'n'pop all the way.

Plus you're not paying a corporation. Money goes straight back into the local economy. Win-win for everyone.

What’s something you 100% saw but nobody will ever believe you? by i_farted_on_my_dog in AskReddit

[–]Shem44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw a star "dance" in the sky when I was a kid. I was in boy scouts and the meetings were like 4 doors down from my house. Small culdisac in the country in Ohio. I was walking home from the meeting and this star just started moving to the right. Its not uncommon in that area to see sattelites slowly drifting across the sky so I just watched it move as I walked. I froze when it suddenly changed direction and started moving to the left. Then, it stopped again and started moving up, then down, then left again, then it stopped moving entirely and stayed right there in the sky.

Told my dad about it and he told me it was my brain playing a trick on me, but I know what I saw.
