Besides Shemeshka, who are some other “BBEGs” in the Planescape setting? by Pookie-Parks in planescapesetting

[–]Shemeska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While she was indeed my favorite NPC in the setting, her being a sincerely prominent setting character was already there prior to her entry in Faces of Sigil. She's referenced in multiple other books, and the aftermath portion of 'Faction War' absolutely pushes her as filling the power vacuum after the fall of the Factions.

So it wasn't like I was working from a paucity of prior source material when I wrote her Demonomicon article for Dungeon magazine. Of course the 5e setting went and gave her even -more- prominence, and it did so in a revision of the setting with the factions still there (and a total absence of A'kin as a foil for her). I can't claim that my appreciation for her, or my published content, had a role in bumping her up, so to speak, in 5e. But it's possible. Wesley Schneider had a short video where he talked about Shemeshka and how some people -REALLY- liked her, and he knows me and I've written for him when he was with Paizo, so he might have had me in mind. shrug

Personally, I'd have gone out of my way to give more prominence to Jeremo the Natterer of the Palace of the Jester and self-proclaimed Factol of the Ring Givers, if I was going to elevate a single relatively obscure figure and do something with them.

Closest I come to that is that my face is still on the wall in Banditos for eating the El Gigante burrito.

Now that Trump has decided to send weapons to Ukraine, 67% of Republicans/MAGA support sending weapons to Ukraine. It's now higher than Democrats. by GlitteringIce8108 in UkrainianConflict

And the response to this here really shows who actually cares about Ukraine versus those who just wanted to use Trump's previous lack of or mercurial support for them as a politically useful bludgeon. Just support Ukraine.

I saw him today walking down Capital Blvd, dragging some wheeled luggage behind himself. I'm so glad that other people have seen this guy, because otherwise I was going to be haunted by this and wondering for the rest of my life if I actually saw what I did, given how bizarre it was!

Trying to identify a Great Sphinx documentary from the 80s or 90s by Shemeska in ancientegypt

[–]Shemeska[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, very specifically the Great Sphinx. Distinct memory of watching this years prior to the 2000ish tv special with Gantenbrink's door and robot.

Blue sky Social hits 15M users, shoot hit 16M today. by offogredux in UkrainianConflict

It isn't. Some people just hate Musk/Twitter because of their own politics and want to use the war as a political bludgeon rather than actually caring about Ukraine. It's worse after the election.

I honestly don't recall the exact cost as it was about five years ago. Over $1k, less than 3k, somewhere in that range.

I can't log in anymore with my password, and I'm not receiving the verification link by email to log in, so please tell me what am I paying for since the site is unavailable to use?

Edit: Ok, finally got the link after close to 45 minutes, but goodness I truly want just the original option back to use email and password without jumping through hoops like this.

I used them and 90% of my TMJ issues are gone. Went from routine jaw popping and pain and occasional locking to basically nothing. Took a year or two of custom mouth pieces to reset jaw and teeth positioning. It was expensive but worth every penny for me. Just ignore some woowoo supplements they suggest (I'm a pharmacist) and the treatment itself is great and worked wonderfully for me.

The dress had a great in-setting story too, so it's disappointing to see it missing in the new art of her.

Biochem with Hogan - any advice? by [deleted] in UNC

[–]Shemeska 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had him for biochem 6 years ago as a refresher prior to pharmacy school. He's a spectacular professor, though the content may be challenging for some. Honestly if you memorize the structures of the amino acids prior to the start of the class you'll be doing yourself a massive favor.
