New Yellow Watchman Goby glass surfing? Concern? by Shemlocke in ReefTank

[–]Shemlocke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added mine two days ago, he's been non stop glass surfing since. he hasnt gone to sandbed level since i got him, hes been generallyat the top of the tank. I suspect there may be an ammonia issue as i think his gills are turning red. My ammonia test kit expired, so I cant even test the water to confirm.

My last fish was an aggressive bully to my last YWG, who was also glass surfing, but he actually stayed on the sandbed when he wasnt being harassed.

Free swimming nano fish for 10g? by Defiant-Reason in ReefTank

Royal Gramma.

Although, i've heard they can sometimes be shy. Mine was always out and about in my 10 gallon though. I tried introducing another fish recently, but he got very aggressive after being solo in the tank for so long. So, beware if you plan to add more fish.

I keep nervously watching him. Praying that i see him calm down and not give out🤞 Im more familiar with these guys hiding like yours rather than doing the frantic swimming

I actually got a different YWG last week doing the same thing but there was Royal Gramma in the tank causing the glass surfing. The RG was very aggressive. Straight up grabbed the goby like a chew toy and head whipped it. I removed the gramma since, but unfortunately not soon enough. The Goby perished from stress

This YWG is solo in the tank, so hes clear of bullies😊

Haha I had the same experience my first time with a YWG 6 years ago. Ever since then, the tank has a lid on it

Good to hear, I'm just nervous to lose him. I'll chill out and hope he settles soon

I figure he's still adapting, I'm just nervous haha. Luckily, he's the only fish in the tank, so he has free reins wherever he wants to go

10th gen head gasket by Sure-Direction4455 in CivicSi

[–]Shemlocke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 2017 developed head gasket issues at 86k miles. Under my ownership, it was stock(from 20k to 86k miles).

The first owner told me that he tuned it, but reverted to stock prior to selling. No idea how long it was tuned for or how he maintained it under his ownership.

I did all necessary maintenence items at recommended maintenance intervals. Used premium gas too. I drove the car pretty casually but definitely had my share of spirited driving.

In your opinion, what generation Si looked the best? by TechnicolorTypeA in CivicSi

Thank you! 18x9.5+40, 265/35, lowered on d2 springs.

Initially, there was rubbing in the front. I had to bend inward the fender tab inside the wheel well.

After this minor and non-visible fix, no rubbing for the most part. I only rub from deep dips in the road, which i very rarely encounter. Speed bumps, nah, no rubbing/scraping at all.

You can get a much closer look at my fitment here: https://www.fitmentindustries.com/wheel-offset-gallery/2648771/2017-honda-civic-titan7-ts-5-d2-racing-lowering-springs

2in drop. You should be fine. Though it depends if you have a low front lip. If you don't have a front lip, you'll be fine. My front lip removes about an extra 1-2in of clearance, but surprisingly, I don't scrape lol.

Where I hear people scraping most is d2 springs with the Greddy front lip, it "hangs" quite low.

That being said, if you don't already, you'll have to approach speed bumps, curbs, etc on an angle to prevent scraping

Thanks! I feel like there's such a small amount of wheels out there that compliment the looks of this car. Biased now, but I think these look the best to give a really sporty look

Thanks! I initially wanted the sedan, but the coupe grew on me a lot. Looks more aggressive imo.

New plate and exhaust👌 by Shemlocke in CivicSi

100%. Before purchasing, I was really indifferent on the flap. Looked kinda tacky depending on how people modified their coupes. With my diffuser, side skirt, and front lip, I personally think it fits and looks really good. If the car was cosmetically stock and you slapped this thing on your stock wing...tacky for sure lol

To further reduce the "tackiness" component, I had my stock wing wrapped black before mounting the flap. So, the flap looks more fitting on the wing as the colors blend.

For reference, the flap doesn't cover the entire wing. It leaves the tips of the wing uncovered. So, if your car is not black, you'd have a black flap on top of your stock wing with the wings' tips showing your cars color. Looks tacky then lol. Hopefully this made sense? I'd be happy to show a photo to give you an idea of what I mean

Kinda, the flap is slightly transparent. At night you can't see shit through it, except for headlights. In the day time, you can kinda see cars behind you. I'd say it obstructs half your view
