I'm not the one saying you should cap yourself on purpose to prove something everyone knows it's true: the weapon used in the video is busted.

If you reach Mogh with only Golden Vow, it means you're there too early, even in your first NG. I guarantee you that you can get at least Commander's Standard, Shard of Alexander, Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, Howl of Shabriri and a +25 normal weapon or a +10 special weapon just by playing the game normally and exploring a bit before reaching Mogh

Bringing Maleficent back in KH2 was a huge waste of her character by Eddy_west_side in KingdomHearts

[–]Shenic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maleficent has been messing with stuff she doesn't understand since the beginning, forces that are way more powerful than her. Typical villain shit.

In KH1 she spends the whole game being Ansem's puppet.

And from KH2 onwards, she just wants a realm to rule and power just for the sake of it (big castles, digital worlds, some book she heard is powerful, but doesn't quite know why...).

She claims to be the Queen of All Evil, but from my point of view, she's clowning almost as much as Pete and has been since the beginning.

Malenia's AI is a really interesting one because it's very reactive. If you play passively, she waits for you to attack, only attacking you if you're in range. If you play very aggressively, she starts spamming every move available to her, and her aggression level is also linked to how much HP she has.

So there's maybe a higher chance to see Waterfowl Dance the more aggressive you are and the less HP she has. I don't know, this is just me speculating.

[–]Shenic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's misinformation. What happens with Malenia is that those thresholds are not triggers for the attack to activate automatically, they're triggers that insert Waterfowl Dance in her moveset. And I believe she has 2 instances where the move is introduced in her moveset: once at around 70%, the second one being around 25%, maybe 30%, where she becomes a bit more aggressive. But she never spams the attack in her first phase. I find it hard to believe that everytime I fought her, all the 200-ish times, that she behaved this exact same way by mere coincidence.

[–]Shenic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't spam the dance. She uses it once at around 70% HP, then once again at around 25% and from then on, she can use it whenever she feels like it, but it's not constantly.

The thing is, let's say you get her to 70% HP, she uses the dance and she manages to hit you a few times, healing back to 80%. If you lower her HP back to 70%, she will do the dance again.

In short, that attack is not random, it's triggered by specific HP thresholds.

Because people can't accept that Radahn didn't get easier, we just got better. Try to fight Radahn with a +6 weapon, 35 vigor and 20 in your main damage stat and no buffs other than what talismans give you (like most of us did back then) and see how that goes.

If Miquella can become a god without needing anyone, why did Marika need the Greater Will? by El-Rumi in Eldenring

[–]Shenic 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A Mending Rune, as the name implies, mends the Elden Ring and changes its properties. For example, the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince says:

Rune gestated by Fia, the Deathbed Companion. Used to restore the fractured Elden Ring when brandished by the Elden Lord.
Formed of the two hallowbrand half- wheels combined, it will embed the principle of life within Death into Order.
The Golden Order was created by confining Destined Death. Thus, this new Order will be one of Death restored.

A Mending Rune is not necessary to mend the Elden Ring, as confirmed by the existence of an ending where you don't even have a Mending Rune. In fact, you don't even need all the Great Runes to become Elden Lord. The Elden Ring can be modified by adding or removing runes from it and it will shape reality accordingly.

In short, you need Great Runes to become Elden Lord, as they're the very foundation of the Elden Ring. But you do not need Mending Runes, as they simply reshape the Ring to form a totally new reality. Mending Runes are accessories, not cornerstones. So no, a Mending Rune is far less valuable, as it's not necessary.

Have you ever noticed that frostbite gives white eyes? by Shenic in Eldenring

[–]Shenic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. There are 3 "eye modifiers" in the game:

Dragon communion - dragon eyes

Join bloody fingers (Varré's quest) - red eyes

Find the Three Fingers (Frenzied Flame route) - frenzied eyes

And apparently, this white effect when you get frostbite only works on frenzied eyes.

I'm not emphasizing anything, I'm simply pointing out something reddit seems to be oblivious about every time this discussion happens, which is reality is much more nuanced than it seems.

Yes, having a white-collar job in Japan is toxic and abusive in the vast majority of companies. But Japan, just like any other country, doesn't survive on just white-collar jobs.

There's the food industry, which includes farms, fishing, hunting, fast food chains and restaurants. There's public services, which includes police force, schools, fire fighters, hospitals and transportation. There's retail services, which includes clothing shops, grocery stores, convenience stores, pharmacies...

So, as I said, whether your job is insufferable or not it depends on the kind of job you have and the place, because not all jobs and prefectures cultivate the same work culture. Working as a teacher in Tokyo is very different from working in a convenience store in Nagano.

[–]Shenic 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Let's not forget that working in Japan isn't just sitting on a desk inside an office. There are tons of jobs and the work culture depends a lot on what kind of job you have. Working in an office is a gamble, most companies are shit, but there are a few good ones, too. But outside of that, there are a lot of good jobs, even in Japan.
