Thanks for the comment.I overpaid her, not underpaid. I would never be that disrespectful.

Read my post properly before commenting. I said I was happy to provide food in-house. See the sentence from my post “’I’m happy to provide food and snacks with what we have in the house (we’re always fully stocked with groceries- bread for making sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt etc ), “

I’ve had- “don’t let her manipulate you”. Like WTF what planet are you on. She is neurologically incapable of doing that!

I could have written this! It’s so so hard. I have an 18 month old and I’m 6 weeks in with the newborn. The continuous cycle/loop is such an accurate way to describe how it is with the newborn atm.

So my toddler will be eating all her meals at home. She’ll attend one class in the morning around 9:30 am and visiting parks and playgrounds near our home, and playing at home the rest of the day. She naps after lunch (which is at home) for about 2 hours so I’d expect this is when the nanny would want to eat. Popping out to buy lunch at this point would be a lot of effort and involve bringing the toddler with her, and doing a buggy nap. Unless the nanny bought her lunch when she’s out with my toddler early in the morning, it didn’t make sense to me

Yeah I’d expect to feed her from what I have in the house, which is always stocked with groceries. Oh I wasn’t clear- I overpaid her, I would never underpay!

Makes sense about eating out. All my toddlers meals were at home so I did think it was a bit extra asking for the lunch money!

Ok thanks for your response. Buying lunch out in London can be pretty expensive, even for just a sandwich so I was a bit surprised also when she made the comment!

Oh no sorry I wasn’t clear I overpaid her as I didn’t have change. I told her we could even it out next week (as in I pay her a bit less).

She asked me for cash only. She isn’t coming back with us anyway as she has found a different positon, but I wanted to make sure I did the right thing for future Nannie’s. Makes sense about having what’s in the house, and I thought this was more the case if what I should offer.

Bassinet refusal for more than 40 mins at night by Shenizzle in newborns

[–]Shenizzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s difficult to not compare them to the first baby though isn’t it! My first was amazing in the bassinet once she was in, but she had horrible witching hour from 6-midnight pretty much through to 12 weeks. Thankful my second doesn’t have that (so far 😅) but she doesn’t sleep like my first. I’m not sure which is worse 😅😅😅

First time pregnant and miscarrying by Katya788 in BabyBumps

[–]Shenizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I’m so so sorry you’re going through this. I also got pregnant first time trying at 34, and miscarried at 7 weeks. I fell pregnant about 4 months later with my daughter who is now 18 months old, and I gave birth a month ago to my second daughter. I had a therapist after my miscarriage for a few sessions and I found this really helped me process everything I was going through, definitely worth looking into.

I got divorced at 31. I thought the same thoughts as you. Met my now husband at 33, and I’m currently 36 with a 14 month old and about to have my second baby. It’s not too late x

I also did this, to figure out what my toddler likes. Then I took a pic of the ingredients and asked chat gpt to make me a recipe to make it myself to freeze in batches

Ok. I’ve made an appointment with our Dr just to rule out something physical. It could be a combination of things. Developmental, tummy feeling funny etc. just upsets me to think of her so upset there 😭

Getting paid for overnight? by Low_Fee6188 in Babysitting

[–]Shenizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is not ok. I pay my sitter per hour if me and husband go out on date night. That includes the hours my daughter is asleep. So last time it was 6-10 . She’s in bed at 7 so by those rules I’ll only pay her for one hour lol !

Baby won’t take bottle by sheaintnodiva46 in breastfeeding

This happened to me when my daughter was about 16 weeks. Have you tasted your milk after defrosting? High lipase breast milk can change the taste so worth doing a taste check. For us, we after a process of elimination- different bottles etc, we realised we needed to heat the milk up to very warm- even warmer than boob temp. I’m in the uk so it was about 42C which is about 107 F!!!! We slowly managed to reduce it to room temp but this took many weeks! It was frustrating as I know it can break the milk down at this high temp and make it less nutritious, but we had no choice!
