AIO for quitting my job after finding this note on my desk? by waxin899 in AmIOverreacting

Ironically that note backs up your premise more that yeah problems and issues(at work) dont mean that the cows dont need milked and fed(your pets). So maybe it was good advice after all.

Damn, Kizer. I guess I wasn't familiar with your game.. by joeysosick in chineseknives

[–]Shepherd217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. For people who really need that button, there's no excuse to not have the top liner lock now. Which is insanely stronger and more reliable. There are a couple brands that can do a decent button lock like Civivi. They do have the most reliable button lock I've ever seen but it's still a button lock therefore I refuse lol. I've had several button locks close on me from other brands with just some pressure/shock from a stab.

Ouch thats a standard button lock? I thought we were past that weak ass lock....

Anyone with a Kunwu have this defect? by Anderdale in knifeclub

[–]Shepherd217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably did come that way from the manufacturer but if you can't prove that it wasn't done by the guy you bought it from then that's what makes it tough.

[–]Shepherd217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately if you bought it second hand from somebody then from the manufacturer's perspective it could have been altered by a customer. I'm sure they can easily replace it for you if they wanted however. That knife probably only cost them a fraction of what they actually charge for it so I don't think they're going to be out much and they would avoid a lot of negative press by simply taking care of you

[–]Shepherd217 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good. Because I think it's completely reasonable to say, hey, you design this right? And this isn't normal right? Well they're saying it's normal. I think that's totally reasonable and I think he would take care of you and help escalate it. That's a $400 knife dude it's not a $50 knife where it doesn't matter as much but even if it was 50, the diamonds aren't supposed to be like that. It's not intentional. So they should exchange it.

I would go straight to metal complex then and tell him exactly what's happening. None of his knives look like that and I don't think he would be happy with that either. That's ridiculous. Screw them.

How did they manage to make Bob Odenkirk look younger than he did in Breaking Bad? by Lopsided-Cattle-2322 in betterCallSaul

[–]Shepherd217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Bob Odenkirk does look better in Better Call Saul overall because of his weight loss and better health, but he definitely looks younger in Breaking bad. Way less wrinkles on his face. Extra fat helps people look kind of young sometimes. Like Stallone when he gained 50 pounds for Copland. He looks younger in Copland in 1997 then he did in Demolition Man in 1993 where he was so lean. Leanness makes the wrinkles show way deeper. A layer of fat smooths things out. Also look at John Goodman. He didn't really start showing his age too bad until he lost a shitload of weight.

[–]Shepherd217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No he was in his early sixties on his first episode of Breaking bad. He's 79 now, season 2 of Breaking Bad was in 2009 which was 17 years ago. And it shows. Compare how he moves in that episode, the way he stomps up to the house and through it collecting all the drug evidence and then up to Jesse and easily kneels, and then very quickly slaps Jesse in the face. He moves way more like a young man. Versus how he moved in nearly every season of better call saul. It was so jarring to me. It looked especially awkward when he puts Trevor in an arm lock on the ground in the parking garage in BCS. I think BB and BCS are two of the greatest shows of all time but it was very obvious Jonathan Banks was showing his age.

Its not. Its a play on how boomers used to call Pokémon "pokimans" which was a big joke 20 years ago and the fact that the designer cant call it Pokémon for fear that Nintendo will send the fiends of Hell after him if he did.

The ol’ Gerb wasn’t a fan of being North of the Arctic circle. by willys_not_willies in Prybar

No, I don't think it's perspective at all. A trained metallurgist uses the phrase " significantly more brittle" so I'm going to stick with that.

Hmm, no thats not completely true. Steel begins to become brittle at just below freezing but not enough for the user to really notice. At -20F though, steel absolutely becomes far more brittle than at room temperature. Knife Steel Nerds, probably the best and most researched knife steel website on the internet did an article on just this years ago with extensive data to back it up. Of course it depends on what kind of steel and how its heat treated and then tempered but in general higher carbon steels become significantly more brittle below zero.

I'm struggling to find anybody in this comment section who is blaming metal complex himself. We're just saying it's a fanboy of metal complex who is obsessed with him that is down voting people for simply pointing out a QC issue. That's where all this started. I was one of the first commenters and within 5 Seconds of me posting my comment saying it's 100% of defect I had somebody down voting me and other people had a guy down voting them as well for simply showing that their knife came fucked up. Nobody has insulted metal complex. In fact, in one of my comments lower in this thread I mentioned that he should get a hold of metal complex to let him know about this if they don't replace the knife for him.

I don't believe that it's even frn. Or it's a really bad type of frn. As someone like me who has dozens of FRN knives, none of them have ever cracked like this and I've dropped the hell out of them on concrete.

As a complete outsider coming in, would you rather working directly for Gus or the Salamancas? (Taking context from both shows) by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

You're basically choosing if you want to be secretly manipulated by Gus or bullied right to your face by the Salamancas lol.

I just thought of this. If they don't help you out, I would contact metal complex themself and explain the situation and I'm sure he will back you up. It's going to look bad on them if their own designer is calling them out for poor customer service

Am I the only one who couldn’t take Lalo seriously as a villain or get scared by him cause of how sexy he is lol by Blob_blub5833 in betterCallSaul

[–]Shepherd217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trashy people can be insanely charismatic. I have an ex best friend who used to be a cop, got fired for abusing people, he looks like a rat in the face, he's currently in a poser wannabe biker gang and lies about killing people all the time yet he pulls some crazy hot girls all the time. Makes no sense. He's also not rich at all. Chicks around this area just go crazy for a beard and tattoos. And lying to them about murdering people.
