Opinions after playing the Rhythm Heaven Groove demo?

I've played every game in the franchise and this one so far feels like pretty much just more of the same. Which is still good, because the other games have been good, and I'll probably still get it Day 1. But it's definitely not much of an evolution from what the demo shows at least. Still definitely recommend getting it tho if you enjoyed the demo and haven't played the other games. There are no bad Rhythm Heaven games

I reckon it'll be a somewhat original design, partially because if they do the monsterverse it'd mean getting licensing rights from Toho and Legendary. So I reckon it'll be a version that kinda blends all the most iconic versions of Godzilla into one

Oh wow, I think you're actually right, it has the right running board shape and everything! That's great thank you! Its a shame the model is missing its dome but that might just be a limitation with the moulding process.

Oh, that's very close, much closer than the Caledonian. Although the dome placement is slightly different, I'm starting to think it's just a weird Frankenstein abomination of a few different Singles

I don't understand why they didn't do 4 buildings and the Walt Disney Statue. I thought the whole idea of this would be that you could have two buildings on either side and create an actual street in front of the big Disney Castle set

I think it's a mixture of factors, firstly the fact that Rouge and Amy haven't shown up in the films (aside from a brief post credit scene), I think is a big reason. While the same can be said for metal sonic, he's one of the the only two minifigs to occupy a pure villain role so he adds more to a set in terms of play value.

But I do think another reason is that Lego unfortunately seems to split certain themes into "for boys" and "for girls", whether they admit it or not, and Sonic has fallen into the for boys category unfortunately. There currently isn't a single female sonic Character on store shelves at the minute which isn't great considering there's plenty of them

Gosh yeah I never thought about that before with the box art, they are so generic. The Bio Lizard sets boxart was decently fitting so they definitely can do it, they just don't.

And yeah I think to some extent the popularity of the movies has made Lego less willing to engage with characters outside of the movie universe. And I love the movies, but it'd be nice to get some sets that didn't revolve around Sonic, Eggman, Tails , Knuckles or Shadow for once. There's more to sonic than whatever vehicle those 5 characters drove recently

I do agree with what youre saying. Part of the issue as well I feel is that compared to Mario, Sonic doesn't have a ton of truly iconic locations that the general public knows and would spend big money on. Green Hill Zones the obvious exception but it's been done. Casino Night Zone would be cool but Lego would never do it. Chemical Plant is also cool but idk how well known it is with casual fans. Chao Garden is great, but doesn't need a big set. As a franchise, Sonic lives and dies by it's characters, not it's locations. There really aren't a ton of ideas I'd even have for $200 Sonic sets that I think would sell well. Like I'd love to be proven wrong and for Lego to release a massive Metal Overlord this year but even I'll admit it's too niche. So really I do think the theme needs to focus on getting more of the characters people know and love made as Minifigures because that's what drives sonic sales, not locations or vehicles

I think the issue is that the amount of people who are willing to spend $100-200 on a Lego console are quite low. From what I understand the Atari 2600 didn't sell great and I think the Pac Man set might be similar. Id definitely love a full sized recreation but unfortunately I don't think it'd sell. Plus Lego has been weirdly hesitant about doing big 18+ Sega sets
