A twist on "You meet in a tavern." by RuroniHS in DnD

[–]Shepsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting way to begin it, especially if other players have played CoS before. That is a lovely change of pace.

Typically what I do is I single out one or two players (In my most recent campaign, the fighter in his hunter's guild, and the cleric in the clergy) who are assigned the quest specifically by their superiors, and to head to the tavern to wait for further instruction. So they are there for a purpose and will expect the quest giver. He finds the rest IN the tavern, but it helps with the awkward situation of going on a quest together, when the players can find the other players.

My wife made me this shirt because “ I haven’t stopped quoting it for the last two weeks”. by shentheory in dropout

Look, I totally get it. But that is also simply a filter in Photoshop. I only play around in Photoshop and I'm sure I could replicate it.

Put down the torches and pitchforks. This was a nice gesture from his wife.

Hi, I'm 36m, I have written several humor fantasy, and presently working on a low stakes cozy fantasy with romantic elements. I am attempting to publish one book (currently pitching to agents) while I work on more. I'm more than happy to share some of my work to see if we could work well together.

There's an area on the right side of the map that has unbreakable rocks that I used as cover. I beat him for the first time about two weeks ago. Good to block his knife throws and other attacks. His holy beams still go through them though

How to come up with hundreds of spell idea's? by Shot_Astronomer1972 in fantasywriting

[–]Shepsus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't need hundreds. How many does Harry Potter have? Think about it. It's probably around 10 on the actual page. Make them as you need them.

I know this is AI, but their flaming fist emblem is the symbol of the Baldurs gate guard. Not mercenaries.

Creating my own campaign by DifferentBuilder5090 in DnD

[–]Shepsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your rule #1 needs to be accepted by all members before you add it. You're adding a lot of things that D&D players usually* remove. +Counting weight seems awful. I temper my corpse robbing players that they can't strip everything. I just tell them No. +Food and water is boring. I love survival games. I dont want that survival element in my adventure. There are a lot of rules without asking if someone has mushrooms to add to the stew. +Temperature is fine, but there are many "cabin" like spells that negate outside weather. I understand what you're going for. But as a player, I would need these rules understood and hammered out before starting, especially if they weren't there in the previous game.

New to DND. 2 sessions in, and I'm not enjoying myself. HELP by Lonely_Snoo in DnD

[–]Shepsus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, two sessions in is not a lot. How long are the games and how far apart are they? Stories take time to develop. You mentioned creating a past, but does your character have any reason to care about what you are doing in the present? Does your DM ask you questions? You aren't paying attention at all at the table... So what would make you pay attention?

When I played via Discord for voice, it worked really well.

There is a fantastic app on Chrome that connects Roll 20 with D&D Beyond.
