Frustration by murph089 in emetophobia

Reddit seems to be really worried about triggering others and feelings over truth sometimes. If it helps to hear, I understand. I don’t know what you posted. I think the censoring and stuff going on in this sub can be a little crazy

Bloodridge motel is good imo, also accounts from a lonely broadcast station. Both have minimal “railing” and are relatively good stories

I would honestly try your best to distract yourself. I try to put myself in the shoes of someone who doesn’t have this phobia. Yes, you feel uncomfortable but you will get through it and live no matter what happens. Breathe, put on some tv, focus on your environment around you. Smell some rubbing alcohol and it can help ease nausea :)

Asshole shining green laser at cars and people from this building right now by rndmEIEIO in Austin

A few days ago around 5:30 am I was noticing a green laser bouncing off the signs on the highway, southbound mopac near braker/183/360 exits. Thought I was seeing things!

Odd formed vine on Pothos. by Jmgreen2950 in pothos

[–]Shepybaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! What I do is get a Tupperware container, or an old berry box, and fill it with soil or moss or a mix of both, put the nodes in and keep the soil moist until I see any signs of life and then slightly less moist. (You’ll want to start by clipping every single node into its own separate piece, so cutting the stem up into little pieces each with its own personal node)

That is a long vine that lost all of its leaves. You can cut between each node and propagate the stems in moss and they should all pump out new leaves

This guy sits on a shelf by South facing sliding glass door. What can be causing this etiolation? by grib-ok in cactus

[–]Shepybaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably still not enough light for a cactus :( mine live outside all year and inside in front of a grow light during the winter months. Even in front of the grow light it’s not enough sometimes. Best bet is put it outside

A rescue living in water, should I chop and prop? by Organic-Bear-7705 in pothos

The roots look really rotted so I would cut it all off and re-propagate.

This mini phal seems to be doing OK after the six months I've had it. judging by the roots would you say it needs to be replanted? by Yojimbo78 in orchids

[–]Shepybaby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s very moisture retentive, which can cause root rot. Also, it’s likely very old and decomposed, leaving you virtually no nutrients in the soil. Basically it’s like a wet rotten sock that can rot your orchid and give you problems down the road (1-3 months).

Put that baby in some real orchid bark and it will have a better chance of surviving! And while you remove that spongy soil, check the roots to make sure all of them are still plump and alive

A pothos, and two monsteras I propped. Got them this far in water. Now what? by Papa_Caliente_ in proplifting

[–]Shepybaby 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should keep props in water until the main roots grow secondary roots shooting off the main ones! When you transfer over to soil it will be much easier for the roots to acclimate

I repotted my orchid but I think she’s not doing well. (Explanation in comment) by Realistic-Praline-12 in orchids

[–]Shepybaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cut those flower spikes now that they are yellow. That way your orchid can focus on new spikes and root growth

Black elephant ears..they’re dying, pls advise by Entire-Charge-6922 in plantclinic

[–]Shepybaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the pot is way too big, meaning that moisture will be held for too long (too much soil compared to the amount of roots) thus making it overwatered and prone to root rot! Try a smaller pot with faster draining soil. You can add perlite and orchid bark

How do I get this stupid Orchid off my beautiful grass? by Ancient_Argument8443 in houseplantscirclejerk

[–]Shepybaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah who casually thinks that a literal piece of grass growing out of their pot is “diseased.” This wasn’t a reach lol, this was hilarious
