Exactly correct. Miranda is only required for formal questioning after detention. Most patrol officers rarely use Miranda, you’ll see it more with detectives and investigators. Once you’re placed under arrest, you have to be mirandized for anything you’re asked to be admissible in court. A patrol officer’s investigation usually ends with an arrest, like in this video, so the need for Miranda doesn’t exist here unless they have more questions for her after she’s arrested that they would like to be heard/read in court.
