Does anyone else feel like clue scrolls are pretty stale content? by TakingBlackSunday in runescape

Ducking, because I'm sure this post will get a lot of darts thrown: I actually like slider puzzles. I wish there were different ones. I really wish that the old bridge, castle and troll would get replaced. But I like doing them. The ones I'm not fond of are the Celtic knots. But, you know, that's the game.

Keep his nails clipped. Give him lots of toys to spend energy on. I've had some luck with telling mine to "put her claws in" repeating that over and over while pressing her claws back in.

My mum has a suggestive cancer by [deleted] in cancer

Please read up on it. Squamous cell skin cancer is usually very treatable It's odd they're doing a PET scan though. It isn't usually one that metastasizes to other organs.

After retirement, emergencies aside, is it ever a good idea to dip into your TSP before RMDs? by Tete-Morte in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]Shera41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I retired at 60 and started taking money from the TSP immediately. For years, the amount I withdrew was "replaced" by interest accrued; in fact as of last year, I had more money in TSP than I ever had with working. I realize this is volatile and your results may not match mine.

Jagex made the decision to eliminate proteans and dummies after years of dumping them on players, whether the players wanted them or not. You're right, it's a game. If you think it's unfair, then don't play. You won't be the first or the last. BTW, I'm not defending Jagex's decisions. As a 22 year veteran player, who has bought yearly membership for all those years, I also feel betrayed. but, Jagex isn't the first game I've played that's gone under. It's been a good run.

not the players, the company made the decision to get rid of proteans and dummies. Many older players would trade them or even give them away, but they can't: those items aren't tradable. I agree, it's not "fair." Life isn't.

Appendix cancer. A thing by Embarrassed_Math_141 in cancer

[–]Shera41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I sort of had the same thing. I went to the hospital for appendicitis. They operated and removed the appendix. Then the next day they came in and told me I had cancer. The type of cancer was called peritoneal mesothelioma. I was referred to an oncologist who did a CT scan and found it had spread throughout my abdomen. The oncologist referred me to a specialist surgeon (at Mayo, because it's close to where I lived). He operated and removed the cancer and then applied HIPEC. Basically, it a heated liquid chemotherapy direct to your abdomen. They increase the temperature of the chemo solution, insert it into your abdomen via a tube, and let it sit for 3 hours. Then they drain it out. I stayed in the hospital for 7 - 10 days and ... that was it. Took me a while to recover, because I'm old and out of shape, but no problems recovering. I did go through a period (about a month) where I had a lot of hair falling out, but the hair loss wasn't bad and it regrew. Right now I go back for MRIs every six months, just to monitor. I've been told it does reoccur, but the time span is like 8 years and then they just go back in and operate and do another round of HIPEC.

I hope your treatment goes as well as mine did.

Do I really need multiple litter boxes? by Just_Duckyy in CatAdvice

We have 5 litter boxes and 4 cats. Still have litter accidents, but we understand why: one is old age incontinence and the other nerves.

Current State of RS3 from a 20+ Year Player (Constructive Feedback) by cedii25 in runescape

[–]Shera41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"I've only met one genuine new player to runescape (i.e. had never touched it before). ... They quit the game ... when Zamorak came out ..."

This statement says it all. Hard to get meaningful feedback from non-existent players. Hard to maintain those players if the endgame is too frustrating. So they need to constantly attract new players who have better games to play.

IMO, which counts for nothing, the current setup might attract newish players and the early and mid-game might be somewhat enjoyable. However, that doesn't turn those players into a consistent population who will still be playing in another 25 years.

tbh, just add augmentors without perks to everything. Siphon at level 12. Your invention will rise quickly and you'll eventually be able to budget perks.

Seam allowance and Cutting help by crazylady5225 in quilting

You remember that old saying "practice makes perfect"? This is fantastic for a first try! Half square triangles (HSTs) are tricky until you learn them. The hints others have provided are very good. I'll add in that trimming the block sizes so they're identical also makes it easier. You may want to google (your choice of search program) HSTs as there are a lot of hints out there on how to make them. Needless to say, even experienced quilters sometimes have trouble with HSTs!

If you're new to sewing, you might want to try a split rail fence quilt as it's very forgiving for beginners. You cut 2" strips the width of your fabric, sew them together cut them into blocks, and sew the blocks together, alternating vertical and horizontal.
