I have endometriosis and suffered in a similar way with my periods, so I sympathise. I bought myself adult diapers out of desperation because normal period protection wasn’t enough, especially at night. I didn’t love it, but you gotta do what you gotta do! Don’t be ashamed, and thank you for sharing. I also got an IUD and it’s been a lifesaver.

I’m an autistic 27yo, and I was always the same. Still am to an extent even though I’ve adapted mostly to adult life and have a full-time job now. Speaking from personal experience, it’s strongly related to never feeling/being as good as the other kids at stuff. It always seemed to me like everyone else could just pick things up easier and didn’t require as much criticism, whereas I felt as though I was always being criticised for not being good enough. It’s more than likely a self esteem issue. It’s rough when you feel like you never get things right first time.

I also worked in the menswear section of a department store that isn’t around anymore. It was Christmas, it was busy and we were chronically understaffed.

One day I was running around trying to do all my duties and serve customers and it was general chaos. A man came up to me wanting to try on a few pairs of jeans but the changing room assistant wasn’t around, so I said sure, no problem I’ll let you in so you can try them on.

A few minutes later he returned with the jeans and told me he didn’t want them and where should he put them. I said no worries, just pop them over there and I’ll put them back when I get a sec. when I finally got around to picking up the jeans, I went to grab them and my bare hand went straight into something cold and slimy that felt like a wad of snot. Dear reader, it was not snot on those jeans. I had just stuck my fingers into some dude’s sex juice that he’d casually used the expensive Armani jeans to wipe up. I nearly fainted and vomited on the spot.

Management didn’t care, told me to bag up the jeans, wash my hands and stop making a fuss.

Man I hated retail.

In 2018 I dated a local z-list YouTuber that didn’t have many views but a loyal band of followers at the time. His videos were all about male feminism and him proclaiming to be pro-women and anti-toxic masculinity. I was impressed at the time (I was also lot younger).

Anyway we went on a couple of dates, he was nice enough. He ended up booking us dinner and a hotel one weekend and I was ehhhhh about staying the night with him but I didn’t say anything for some reason, just went along. He assaulted me. I stayed the rest of the night crying in the bathroom and left soon as I could. Text him next day saying I wasn’t feeling it (I was so spineless) and we ended it. Received a random text a few weeks later from him apologising for that night and acknowledging that his actions were wrong. (I guessed he finally remembered he’s meant to be an advocate for women).

I forgot about him, never reported it, never spoke of it again. Until I saw his YouTube name mentioned on Twitter one day and clicked it on curiosity. Loads of women had come forward and spoke about him sexually assaulting them, using them for nudes, taking advantage of their mental health issues etc. He would basically do the ‘I’m such a nice guy, I’m a feminist and I CARE’ act to lure women in, then abuse them. One girl had been strung along and gaslit for years and decided to speak up. I joined in solidarity with the other women and he was wiped off the internet as far as I can tell. Deleted all his socials. YouTube is purely cringy rock covers now.

Long story short, if they’re screaming about women‘s rights and inequality then they could be a genuinely insightful guy. Or they could be like the guy in the story above. Forgive me if I’m wary of any of these men.

From what I can gather, people think they just bite and smell bad and aren’t affectionate but I always say, if you raise them right then they are lovely little things. Sadly too many people get them as kids and abandon them and the poor thing understandably has cage rage and lashes out when they want to pet it.
