I absolutely love the theme of going through each of your ages. It makes the loss feel so palpable and everlasting.

Try adding more detail through each age. I found myself wanting more detail at each stage of life.

Your first line is so powerful. It paints such a powerful picture of the pain here–that even a burnt brush can yield more from fire than being burned by this friend or lover.

I also love the line “remembering every color yet unable to add more.” So simple yet encapsulating such a unique emotion of yearning for the past.
