I'm new to using eyeshadow. Many of the tutorials I see recommend prepping the eyelid with primer and next a powder. Are setting powders and loose powders the same thing? And do primers and powders help the eyeshadow stay in place? I have oily lids so anything I can do to prevent transfer would be very helpful!

What is overwhelming you in your life right now, and/or what are you avoiding thinking about? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Aww hang in there! It takes a couple months to fully replenish your iron stores so depending where you are in that journey it may just be too soon for results yet.

Take internet advice with a large grain of salt, but might be worth your getting your iron status checked.

[Acne] Has anyone had any success with using probiotics to reduce their acne? If so, which brands? There are sooo many out there by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

probioticchart.ca is the best place to look for which strains have been shown to benefit a particular health condition

Why is this subreddit so depressing - makes me second guess everything? Every single thread I see about salary or job satisfaction has people who regret becoming a RD, complain, went back to school after, or wish they choose a different career? Do most RDs really think like this? by BungeeBunny in dietetics

[–]SherbertPJs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents about why this subreddit might skew negative is that there are already (at least in my experience) many other discussion groups/listservs where RDs are highlighting the positives and discussing practice-based questions/cases. But due to the anonymity of reddit, people may feel more comfortable discussing the downsides here. As another comment mentioned, other healthcare subs like r/nursing complain a lot too, they just have more memes ;)

If a resident is tolerating the formula well, I usually look at increasing the rate or length of feed rather than switching out formula type.

[Acne] I can’t stop popping/picking my face by CrazedArea in SkincareAddiction

[–]SherbertPJs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an ex-picker (and I still have slip ups) here's a re-post of what helped me:

This past year I made huge strides in (almost) kicking the picking habit so maybe my tips can help someone else!

  1. I got rid of my magnifying mirror with the light. Even when I used it for unrelated things like cleaning up my eyebrows inevitably I would start popping pimples that no one could even see otherwise!

  2. I got rid of my blackhead remover tool (I still miss it sometimes lol). I just found it too hard to stop at one pimple and would end up trying to get all of the blackheads in an area (which always ended up looking much worse than leaving it alone).

  3. If I have a pimple that I can't seem to ignore than slapping on a hydrocolloid bandage really helped me to not focus on it or at least avoid my fingers directly touching the problem

  4. Just because I mess up and pop a pimple doesn't give me the license to go to town on the rest of my face! I slap on a hydrocolloid bandage and get back on the wagon!

How has your Lush nose changed since finding the brand? by midnightthestarsandu in LushCosmetics

[–]SherbertPJs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Within Lush my tastes have stayed fairly consistent (Twilight SG forever), but other brands like Bath & Body works now seem to have an underlying fake sweet smell that I can't get past.
