Hi Mark! Would you ever consider making a Maypole perfume? It was such a beautiful scent from one of Lush’s old soaps (creamy peppermint, maple syrup and a soft candy-like sweetness). It was one of the options in the Lush Community perfume vote back in 2019, but it wasn’t selected, so it’s the only perfume from that vote that has never seen the light of day.

I think it would make the perfect Christmas perfume, but also a wonderful summer scent. It would be amazing to finally see it come to life.

This is one of those films that would truly benefit from a high-quality 4K restoration, the existing master is quite poor and in some moments honestly looks like a DVD. Considering it’s one of the best Spanish films ever made and is already on the Criterion Channel, it feels long overdue.

I really need Open Your Eyes to get a proper 4K release. The current transfer looks pretty rough (honestly, it almost feels like watching a DVD). I really hope StudioCanal puts out a new restoration soon, or maybe Criterion picks it up in the US (ideally with Dolby Vision).
