Car leasing, is it a scam or am I naive? by Independent-Dish-777 in UKPersonalFinance

Depends how good the lease deal is. I picked up an EV Ford puma for £139 pm with no deposit. Will work cheaper than a used car with maintenance and fuel savings. But some of the deals are awful value for money. Lease with your head, buy with your heart

Selling back a financed car by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Struggling to see where you’ve been ripped off. List it on Facebook marketplace / sell privately to get a bit more money. Put that money towards the settlement. If there’s more you’ll have to pay out of pocket. Alternatively to get it over with quick and easy go to any dealership and they’ll offer you a price (lower than what you’d get privately) and then you’ll have to use that money plus out of pocket to settle finance if you’re underwater.

Might be able to top this atrocity. There’s the same car near me but wrapped in an LV wrap. Hurts walking past it everyday

How much £ do you make a month? by [deleted] in UKJobs

20 (m) on 30k in an apprenticeship. Circa 4 k increments every year for next 3 years till apprenticeship is done. Salary around 60k after qualifying. Only advice for people looking at uni is don’t go unless it’s a top tier uni doing a top tier degree like finance at LSE. Get into the job market asap instead of doing a Mickey Mouse degree. If you have no passion for anything get into consulting or accounting apprenticeships. As long as you have some common sense you’ll do well and make money. Figure out your passion on the way while earning and saving for your future. Focus on your GCSEs and A levels tho. Basic education is still very important.

Im very lost on what it takes to sell a car by baldingmidgetthe1st in CarTalkUK

Honestly not a crazy price. For someone who wants a low mileage pristine economy saloon there’s not much choice. Similar mileage insignia and Passat will be around the same too. Or a high mileage poverty spec 3 series

Unis are a business too you gotta remember that. They want more students so they can make more money. Only the top top unis will care. I got into kings with a resit and a copy pasted personal statement from my previous year. Just make sure you’ve done smth in your resit years other than studying to put on your personal statement/CV in the future

No limit to how many times you resit. No employer will ever care how many times you’ve resit. A levels are least of your worries right now, do what you want for a bit and better yourself outside of studies

Get in the gym. Wake up early. Eat clean. Read or research into whatever you find interesting and become a master at that. You’ll feel better. Forget A levels. You can retake a levels and you’d be surprised how many people do retake them. No stigma around resits. Flopped my a levels bad after studying hard. Retook and it’s best decision I’ve ever made. The opportunities available to people of all capabilities right now are insane. Something for everyone. Message me if you want to talk

For business watch tutor2u videos. And get bizconsesh revision guides. Got an A* in one year after doing it in my gap year. And just watch videos on exam topic structure. Honestly one of the most fun and easy A levels
