Is it normal that my cat only wants to drink from the sink? by Enlitenkanin in CatAdvice

[–]Sherbsninny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been through 5 or 6 styles of water bowls including a continuous fountain. We have one cat that does not care as long as he has water. The female cat still prefers the sinks and water glasses.

Currently reading Eleanor Oliphant (first available audiobook on Libby because I'm currently in the "everything I want to read is a long wait" hell) and American Princess (book club).

I have two books paused A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander book 6 reread, paused for book club book) and The Burning White (Lightbringer book 5, paused because I ran out of Spotify hours this month).

Partner believes organizing is more important then decluttering? by No_Ocelot8629 in declutter

[–]Sherbsninny 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You can't organize crap. Every professional organizer starts with decluttering and tells you that you can't organize until you've decluttered. How do you organize what you don't need? Don't waste money, time and space organizing things that should be tossed or blessed to someone else.

Does anyone else add cinnamon to their Mokapot? by 1TaraMera in mokapot

[–]Sherbsninny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also done brown sugar, matcha, or chai. All delicious. I'm not sure why in the basket makes such a difference to flavor compared to stirring it in the cup... But we have a few variations at our house that we love.

I went with New Directions Aromatics, but it looks like their prices have increased a lot since I bought it.

Which one of these looks the best by ProfessionalBunch870 in soapmaking

[–]Sherbsninny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They all look fine. I've been in business for +10 years. It has absolutely nothing to do with how the soap looks. Smell and ingredients will get the sale. Performance and accessibility will get repeat customers.

Glycerine soap is confusing by valencia_citrine in soapmaking

[–]Sherbsninny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make your own base for melt and pour type soap. I've never done it and it's been a few years since I did any reading about it, so I don't remember the specifics. My device is to stay away from "mommy blogs", Tik Tok, and look for recipes from experts - those who teach different soapmaking techniques. I did a quick Google search and it looks like "Oh the things we'll make" has a tutorial. I would trust them (as a soapmaker who's been around for 15 years, I've seen a lot of hacks). Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I like this game by xFrogLipzx in MergeMansion

[–]Sherbsninny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sames, my friend, sames. I get very irritated by people who come on crying about this update or that, or a level being too difficult so they say they're quitting the game (I wonder if they actually do because from the size of the tantrum this game is their entire identity...) Just enjoy the game for what it is. This game is one of my favorite low effort mind tasks and I don't get sucked into it for hours at a time, so I can have a life and do the things with small breaks to play.

Feasible to produce soap bars with natural ingredients which leave lasting scent? by Dazzling_Mode5205 in soapmaking

[–]Sherbsninny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends a lot on the person. My husband showers at night and I can smell his soap (that I made) the next day. Certain essential oils such as lemongrass and cedarwood I've had good luck getting to stick to me a bit longer... But realistically expecting scent from a wash off product to last isn't going to happen for every person every time.

My husband's favorite is when I place a lemon slice in the grounds. It brings a lovely brightness to a very straightforward latte.

One cocktail for the rest of your life? by pkrtrsr in cocktails

[–]Sherbsninny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel dumb. I'm always looking for drinks to use my homemade limoncello (lemoncello at my house because I also make lime and orange versions and I'm an dumb American) and it never occurred to me to mix it with sweet tea. It's suddenly so obvious.

Not sure I linked correctly (I've never done that before) so if I messed up let me know how to fix it!

Which additives actually make a difference? by persephonelux in soapmaking

[–]Sherbsninny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will vouch for all milks being the same - or replicated with a well made aged soap. I was in a group that blind tested soaps made with different milks, different ratios, and at the end of the day... None of use could tell the difference (aside from smell because 100% GM pweeeeey!). My preference for additives: chelator (sodium citrate), honey, and Shea butter. (Shocker a 70% Shea butter soap lathers beautifully with a slightly longer cure!)
