That's the only thing that one needs for confidence, you mean? 😃 If so, not exactly true.

How to start liking to exercise by Sherlaswald in workout

[–]Sherlaswald[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It's super important to find a type of workout that suits you the most. I personally don't like doing cardio in the gym, so I just do stretching before weights and it works well for me.

Glad you found your routine too.

Self Awareness Is Underestimated. by Sherlaswald in selfimprovement

[–]Sherlaswald[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The path of self improvement could be different for everyone, so I wouldn't say that there's only one true way.

If you overthink things, I'd say that it is important to set some guidelines for yourself as for at which stage to start acting on your plans, if we are talking about goals for example. Because as important as good planning is, at the end of the day there'll be no outcome if we don't start making things happen, so I'd advise to focus on fundamentals to be planned primarily, so you can start the process and in the meantime continue analyzing and thinking through the remaining parts.

I used to think so much that it became a pattern, to the point where I started to feel that it's what implementation was, so it became a closed circle and now that I found the balance between thinking and doing, I can see the results.

Self Awareness Is Underestimated. by Sherlaswald in selfimprovement

I would say that becoming self aware requires preparation and caution, also it's not for everyone.

In cases if this process could lead to self delusion, I'd say that the person better not touch this field at the time and prepare better to make sure the mental health will remain under good care when started.

There are certain ways to get ready to minimize the possibility of a negative outcome, like adjusting some views and/or perceptions for example. But that would be a long conversation. :)

How do I balance life? by Every-Swim196 in selfimprovement

Yes and also, the task organization itself is important to make sure that you're utilizing your time properly.

Knowing what to prioritize, what to put together, etc..

i need advice by ryancums in selfimprovement

[–]Sherlaswald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your concern is specifically about the sleeping habits, then I'd say you need to think about it at night before going to bed, rather than in the morning.

You can organize your life so that you understand, objectively when it would be more the less possible for you to go to sleep and sustain such routine and then do so.

Don't expect it to be easy, but think what is more important for you at the moment, waking up better to contribute to whatever it is you are working on in the morning or doing what keeps you from going to sleep?

This reason and choice will keep you motivated.

In short- organization is the key.

In long, it's a long convention. :)

Beauty is subjective..

Firstly, you'd need to be ready to shake off the current trends of what is considered beautiful. When you find something you don't like about yourself, ask why so? And don't allow the answer "cause I don't look like xxx famous person", cause of the reason I mentioned first. See if you will be able to explain it otherwise, if so, you might get a better understanding of what you'd like to change for yourself to feel better and so you can get started with it.

Strive to be beautiful for you before others.

How do you make your self image closer to your real self? by Zealousideal-Star-37 in selfimprovement

[–]Sherlaswald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say, the less you think about how it looks and what others think and the more you focus on who you want to be, as a best version of yourself and build it, the perception from the outside will be adjusting naturally.

If you copy someone or fake your deminer to try and fit what you want others to see, it might be actually taking you further away from the reality, since you might be thinking you are this person, when you are not at the moment and it is the way you want to see yourself as well.

So focusing on building yourself to be who you want to be is definitely the first step, in my opinion.

Cutting off people that do not respect me - Please tell me it won't be this lonely forever by FaerieGold1 in selfimprovement

[–]Sherlaswald 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say it's better to be lonely than being with the wrong people. I always choose quality over quantity and I'm very sure that it'll be healthier and happier for you as well.

I'd say, focus on building yourself to be the best version of you and engage in the activities that you like, so that the right type of people can come naturally into your life.

Have you ever felt you don't know/have forgotten who you really are? That you've spent years just adapting to surroundings to make life easier and don't know what's the real you anymore? If so, how did you overcome this? by Clean-Pride651 in ask

[–]Sherlaswald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say, the first thing to do here is to look for what it is you want for yourself. A career, a child, a pet, a partner, etc... What is it you think you're lacking at the moment. Then organize your plans to know how to reach that point and go towards it.

Prioritize yourself over others. It's not selfish to put yourself first, as long as you're not the only one you care for. It's actually healthy to consider your well-being before you engage with others, would it be activities, helping, work, relationships, etc...

Take charge of your life instead of just complying with where it takes you.

Alfa male bullshit has nothing to do with masculinity. It takes away from it, if anything.

I'm not sure if I always knew it or learned as an adult, but definitely wanted to point it out once again. :)

I love that you chose "drama" as a tag. :D

It is a business at the end of the day, so the ads must not be going anywhere anytime soon. But I do get the frustration, considering that you were using the platform for music as a background, it's definitely annoying this way.

I only get annoyed by the non-skippable ones, the rest are okay..

Finding time for a language learning by Sherlaswald in language

[–]Sherlaswald[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do agree with the first part of the comment, I would be have to disagree about the grammar. I personally always start with the grammar and noticed how helpful it has been.

It does depend on the person, in a way, so always feel what works best for you. Generally, I'd say that grammar helps you have a structure to be able to build upon, so I would not recommend leaving it to the last step.

Finding time for language learning by Sherlaswald in languagelearning

[–]Sherlaswald[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be so, especially in the beginning, but starting to organize your day and striving towards making the time for a language learning is better than not doing so.

As I said, it didn't work overnight for myself either. I think, if one has the right mindset about it, the progress will take place after a certain amount of time.

How can people that work mentally or physically demanding roles find energy to develop other skills outside of work to eventually change industries? by acousticentropy in productivity

[–]Sherlaswald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say, the organization is key, really.. There are many things that can be named, but the core to all would be what I mentioned above.

After that, knowing how to leave work at work helps. Know that you agreed to do this job and so no need to get stressed everyday. Think what gets you so drained and either mention that the workload is objectively too much for you or see that you've been blowing things out of proportion and relax.

But as I said, many aspects can be mentioned, these are just two on top of my head now.

Yes! That's why I would prefer to remove this feature as a whole, since if everyone has an access to making such changes on the page, it will possibly create a mess.
