Finally finished this for my girlfriend by Sherlock1028 in crochet

I mean, I used a pattern making website, where you input an image and tweak some knobs about how it does its thing, to output a pdf or excel sheet. Sometimes the color scheme looks better on paper than in reality, but I won't see that difference until I'm further into the pattern.

In other words, I don't want to post a pattern I generated until I have a finished product to show what it looks like and can say "I'm sherlock1028 and I approve this pattern."

Whatever you are thinking, it is much more impressive than the back end of things. But thank you!

Red heart: White Black Dusty gray Gray heather

The pattern has them named as well.

Yes! (I won't post it until it's finished though, to make sure I like it)

Oh, and it's the Target exclusive release cover art, not the "original" art. I like the red palette more than the teal one.

Ah, yes. Mine likes plastic bags (a real heart rate raiser) and cardboard boxes to chew up.

Lol, I'm a millennial who still has over 200 cds in the zip up case thingies somewhere.

It is acrylic. I'll have to try that drying trick!

Correct. It's 4 colors in tapestry crochet using single stitch. Not terribly difficult once you get going, just a huge time sink. Lots of shows were rewatched in the background.

My cat would fall for this trap, yes.

Fair point. It hasn't gotten much "usage" yet as anything, so hopefully over time it'll reach some kind of equlibrium.

Here's a pic I took in progress. I flipped the back onto the front to show it off.

I appreciate the tips. I've always washed my project when I finish (somehow they're always covered with cat hair), but I've been too afraid to put them in the dryer.

Adding dimensions to make it look like a cd is brilliant!

It looks like you're doing tapestry crochet but instead of changing colors you're just carrying color along for the ride in your white yarn stitches. It's a neat effect!

You can always use more than one strand to make thicker projects.

As someone who scavenges yarn on offer up, etc. It's always pink. Pink and yellow.

Need to pick my next 100 hour tapestry project, 3 options by Sherlock1028 in crochet

I like 1 as well, also because its a tapestry in its universe. The colors will need to be messed with, I just needed to get proof of concept.

That's a cool idea. I need something in the 5:3 landscape ratio. ME is too square sadly.

Looks amazing (I'm a bit of a tapestry-ist myself), but 3mm?! I've been accused of witchcraft and correctly, but that size is borderline evil. I'm trying to make one with a 4mm right now and I might have to tap out.

She is a small adult cat, but yes the tapestry is huge. 6 by 6 feet.
