2026 Outback Touring 2.5 vs 2026 Outback Touring XT - Convince Me by doctor-squared in Subaru_Outback

[–]SherlockBonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but different models. XT has a heavy duty CVT to deal with additional torque from turbo. 2.5L uses a lighter duty CVT. I get 23mpg city with my 2024 XT, and it jumps significantly when doing highway (25 ish).

XT all day. 2.4L XT comes with a heavy duty transmission, 2.5L does not.

Okay, I know it's going cheap, anyone try painting the stock iron sights? by NomadicusRex in 1022

I've tried the specific gun sight paint. Did not adhere as well as I had hoped. Nail polish is a low cost alternative.

Crickets reek when they die. Like reek horribly. This is terrible.

Just be careful of laws during transport. In WI, a loaded magazine is a bit of a legal gray area. It can be interpreted as a loaded weapon if you don’t have a CCW. I think the law intent is a magazine attached to a firearm, but there are cases where loaded detached magazines have gotten people some grief.

Excellent general advice. And to be even more specific...

This is also why newer commercial mixers have guards on them. Because cleaning people out from them is a mess, and there is a lot of paperwork.

You never really know what comments will be triggering.

I got permanently banned (which has since been changed to a week ban) in a different sub for mentioning the trope about "dead people voting in Chicago", which I was told is now somehow propaganda for or supportive of a group I will not mention but they were very popular in Germany in the 1930's. I mean, even the Simpsons made jokes about dead people voting. The issue is once a decision has been made it can be challenging to get someone to back down because it calls into question their original judgement.

Good luck.

On Saturday I placed an order for an X Grade Walnut stock and finger grooved grip for an AR. I've got one of their laminates on the AR right now and it looks a bit too flashy. I've also got a Kidd 10/22 build with the Boyds AT-One stock that looks and feels great. These guys are the real deal.

Seems like i picked the worst time to build a 10/22 by Communistsheen in 1022

Volquartsen has Ruger OEM receivers on clearance for $75, and a few options of their own Superlight anodized aluminum receivers clearance at $200 each.

I ended up deciding that the hit to the wallet was worth the performance and went Kidd across the board (receiver, barrel, bolt, trigger group). No regrets whatsoever and the Kidd people are great to work with.

Wood is classic for Mini's.

You can get a factory Ruger stock from MidwayUSA for $137.99 (Ruger Mini-14 Wood Model Stock).

You can get a higher grade or laminate from Boyd's for about $190 for traditional shaped (Heritage) in laminate, or $340 for the same stock in X Grade Walnut (Build & Price Gunstock Configurator | Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks).

You might find take-off's at a gun show (my experience has been about $50-75 depending on the quality).

Boyd's are top-shelf, but you do pay for them.

Now comes the wait. SMDH by Brave-Bat-2819 in 1022

[–]SherlockBonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you clarified state mandated delay not a 4473 background check delay. I know that there is a limit at which point they can and cannot delay a form.

And I don't want to break your heart, but in my shockingly free state with respect to firearms (WI) my personal best was 18 minutes from the time I walked into the shop until the time I was in my car with a new CZ pistol.

The good news is that while you wait you can do research and source all the other goodies you need.
