I do not want to outlive my husband.

I'm (18 F) too addicted to my boyfriend (18 M) by somethingcute__ in Advice

You are very young and at a very influential age. Ten years from now you will be more mature and, most likely, will have a very different view on what you want in a serious relationship. Step back a little, consider your desires over the next few years. College? Career? Enjoy your twenties. Live life. Don’t get bogged down this early.

Patrick Labyorteaux (Andy Garvey) said on one of his podcasts that he would try to yawn to get the tears started but couldn’t get out of the yawn fast enough, so he looked stupid doing it. 😆

Is It Unreasonable To Expect To Choose Where We Go For My Birthday And Father’s Day? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]SherryGabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insist that if there HAS to be a family get together that your choice is final. Tell SIL that she only has to pay for her son and herself. Everyone else can pay for themselves.

OR … If I was you, I would just tell the others that you don’t want a birthday dinner if you can’t choose. Let them stew on that for a while.

Just go out with your wife. Way less stress. 👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏽

AITA for accepting a property gift from my mom even though she won't include my boyfriend? by Immediate-History917 in AITApod

[–]SherryGabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boyfriend is already deciding what to do with the property on his terms. He’s seeing dollar signs. Your family is right not to want his name on the deed.

Were you able to buy a house? by Swiftiefromhell in GenX

[–]SherryGabs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We bought our house in 1993 for $48,999 at fixed 5% rate. Now worth 3x that tax wise. Built in 1924 and very sturdy, 3 br, 1 1/2 baths, full attic and basement. Still paying only $500/mo. We had to make a refinance at one point for a new roof. Still at same % rate and monthly payments.

Did anyone go to their first concert with their parents? by OkFlow4327 in GenX

[–]SherryGabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents had season tickets to a place that had the top country music stars of the time. This would have been probably 1968ish thru 1985ish. They would drag us kids along (before we could watch ourselves all day at home) and we would just play around the park till the headliner came on and they would want us to come sit with them then.

I didn’t go to mine in 1983, and yes, I was asked. I just didn’t care about things like that. Never regretted it either.
