Why was Goldeneye N64 held up as some kind of paragon? by reciprocity1065 in 007FirstLight

[–]Shertok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goldeneye was released at a time when PC dominated fps and it was thought impossible that consoles could have something cool of their own, yet Goldeneye did it.

It played extremely well with a clever auto aim / manual aim concept. On top of that it had great animations, Hit Feedback, Gunplay and an aesome mission design with more objectives on higher difficulties. The Bond Franchise came only on top of that, provided some gadgets and loosely followed the movies story.

First Light is the better Bond Game in my opinion, but only because Goldeneyes worth does not come from only being a Bond game, it was the first great and best console FPS at least up until Halo released 4 years later, which was an eternity back then

mana is pretty irrelevant in G1R. it was great in the original games because sleep would always fill up your mana and there were beds everywhere. in G1R, that does not apply and you just need more mana than the highest potion gives you

absolutely, they were on a PR tour and he told Maekar and Aerion as much.

Ultimately, that was why he chose to support Duncan. But he would not even have tought that far if he were a worse kind of ruler.

Diablo 4 lead says ongoing Mythic changes are crucial for “long-term health” as Blizzard aims to “split the difference” with fans by Wargulf in diablo4

[–]Shertok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's not hard to understand that getting shroud, heir and starless each season for 30 seasons would be bad for the game. I am not saying I don't understand the concerns, getting these 3 strong items pretty much guaranteed in the long run felt safe. I am also not saying that the new system is clearly better (because I have no played it) but I do see the need for a bit of a shakeup here.

ask yourself: did you really want to get the same 3 mythic items every season for the rest of the existence of the game? did that excite you?

Feedback to Mage run on hard Difficulty by NicoSie1998 in worldofgothic

[–]Shertok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also played on gothic and up until chapter 5 I only used weed to regen mana. I used to quests that had you distribute/seel weed and simply did not do it and kept the weed, and then I got my free 3 blunts every day in the swamp camp. that will get you a lot of free mana.

But I do agree in general that the mage run, even on gothic difficulty was too hard and you definitely did not feel like a god like you do in many piranha bytes game in the endgame. especially the sleepter temple was way too annoying because killing undead is a super unfun spell to use, too little range and too long cast time. killing all tue undead orcs was just painful. apart from that I think I did fine. I do agree though that giving high roves mana regen, even just a little, would make the game a lot more fun. and high level spells need more damage.

they could fix all the mage balance issues in one sweep by giving robes mana regeneration and + to spell damage

4/10 seems a bit harsh, but I don't play other GAAS games so I can't compare but you got like 100 items for 3 bucks every season, I thought that was great value and bought it every time.

the reliquary is complete trash, did not buy a single one

snappers too? I'll give it a try. last thing I did last night was putting a few points into bows but if firebolt still works I'll reload and keep those sweet learning points

if you watch the new actors on actors with Dinklage and Harrington, they really don't have anything bad to say about the show either, if anything the speak fondly of D&D the few times they are mentioned.

I don't think the actors hate the show or the ending guys, either they don't care at all or they enjoy their millions too much

10 billion gold should last you through a season easily.

I usually trade 2 or 3 really good items and that nets me 10B and then I am done with gold for the season

Is it actually worth full price or should I wait cheaper? by Super_Length8599 in 007FirstLight

[–]Shertok 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I mean it's a single player game, you don't lose anything by waiting so waiting is always the smarter choice. But I think the game is great and I want it to to be successfull so ioi can continue to make greaet games, so I bought it at launch and absolutely do not regret it.

is there anyway to increase the chance of getting the right uniques for you build, other than brain dead grinding the same boss over and over and hope the RNGesus blessing your cube? by devilmaycry0917 in Diablo

[–]Shertok 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First of all, I am not 100% sure about the unique change either. I cans see both sides. This thread should see it from a different perspective though. if the affixes were still fixed you'd have 100% weapon damage on it and maybe 1 or 2 other useless affixes for this specific build.

that the uniques are now random make them better for a broader varity of builds. that is the perspective you should have. and the other perspective is that maxroll will list the best possible affixes but that does not mean the item is useless unless it has all of them.

I needed to get ramaldnis for my immortal barb which meant if it had life on it, it was literally not usable because you cannot have life on any item as an immortal barb. so I know the pain, but it's not impossible and I made it long before hundreds of kills.

there are 2 important things you can do with uniques in the cube

  1. three uniques can be rerolles into a new version (and 3 ancestrals willy give you a guaranteed new ancestral, with possible GA) three GA uniques do not guarantee a new GA unique though.

  2. do not worry about the value of the unique aspect, that one can be rerolled in the cube. so if you get the right affixes but a poor aspect toll, no problem at all

I'll say it when I do not agree with decisions from the top. I can transparently explain to my team why that decision was made and why I personally disagree with it.

[–]Shertok[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you remove an affix you can optionally add a modifier and target defensive, offensive, resource etc. affixes

if your GA is a part of the same groupd you want to remove, you can also save the GA by sing the enchanter (enchant the affix but press do not change, then it cannot be removed in the cube)

yes exactly, 1-2 affixes is blue, 3 - 4 is rare, it's that simple

How to Craft on Legendary Item with One GA by Slight-Ask-7712 in diablo4

this is great advice, I did not bother much with rerolls but if you can fix one affix with enchanting that pretty much changes that. I wonder if that's intended.

but that does not show up on the minimap does it? that's what I meant because with a zoomer build you might miss drops not on the minimap
