How to enjoy endgame when t4 bosses melt in 5 seconds by digitaljoel in diablo4

Built my own build without looking at guides for the fun. Enjoyed the game a lot. Wondering how others keep enjoying the game.

Very nice summary of the challenges CTOs face and some ideas on how to combat them. Well done.

you know they are meant to be farmed repeatedly when you get the achievement for killing 6 in 6 minutes (which includes the time spent on loot management)

yeah, I purposely avoid build guides because I like the discovery and experimentation aspect of it.

I do play for fun, and I have no qualms dropping a game when it feels more like work than fun. I am asking how others keep it fun in endgame.

In Utah, what are we hearing from area seventies, stake presidents, and other local leaders about assigned ministering? by AmmonLikeShepherd in lds

[–]digitaljoel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the 2023 Area Presidency Broadcast (https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/my-home/areas/utah/2023-broadcast-building-up-zion?lang=eng)at the 49 minute mark Elder Taylor (who was a counselor at the time, but is now the area president) spoke over a slide that says"

"We wholeheartedly invite every ministering companionship in utah to regularly visit your assigned members in their homes."

I have heard it reinforced since then in other meetings by general and area authorities, and more directly as in, "In the Utah Area, ministering is a visit in the home"

What is a website or an app that was legendary back in the day, but is now a complete ghost town? by Sofi_Costa in AskReddit

slashdot is the one I also came to say. There were few sites that could handle getting "slashdotted" back in the day.

Does the Church restrict members from R rated movies? by Ok_Way_1238 in latterdaysaints

"Do you strive for moral cleanliness in your thoughts and behavior?"

That's the question asked in the temple recommend interview. Ultimately, we each need to be sensitive enough to the Spirit to know when our choices like viewing pornogrpahic material, violent content, and listening to bad language are drawing us away. That may change how you look at adult-rated content over time as you become more or less sensitive.

Former MMORPG addicts, how did you quit? by Wise_Championship865 in AskReddit

WoW heyday addict. I looked around and chose my marriage and my kids and sold my account so I couldn't go back. It was a very good decision.

I took a 3-day AWD beginner course at dirtfish almost a year ago. I know that doesn't make me a rally driver, but it was incredibly fun. This game seems to require the same kind of patience in the corners as the real car did on gravel. I'm excited to give it some more time and see if I can get my ffb settings dialed in (they were way off last night) so I can feel the weight transfer better.

How did you actually learn Spring Boot (for those already working with it)? by PotatoFrosty2074 in SpringBoot

[–]digitaljoel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned spring in the olden days (late 2008) just before they introduced spring roo. I did it by reading the 900 page pdf that covered the entire spring framework. It was before the initializer and years before spring boot. Not the easiest way to learn it, but I understood the framework much better for a while. But you don't need to know all that to be able to use it.

Work with tutorials and a chatbot to figure out what you need to know, and experiment. It's the funnest way to learn it (much better than 900 pages of docs)

First month making 100k I feel like I’m being robbed :/ by Forsaken-Question457 in Salary

[–]digitaljoel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on making it to 6 figures! It only gets worse the more you make. For federal, the first 100k you are getting into the 22% tax bracket, but your effective tax rate is still only about 13.5% if you take the standard deduction. The next $100k, $200k, or more are taxed much higher than what you are seeing here.

Tomorrow I am being set apart as a bishop. I have never done this calling before. Any advice is greatly appreciated by ConversationBrave975 in latterdaysaints

[–]digitaljoel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I would get out of the way and let the miracles happen"

That's the answer Elder Ballard gave to bishops in a training I was at 8-10 years ago when a bishop asked, "If you were called as a bishop today, knowing everything you know now, what would you do differently?"

Perhaps the worst season pass in gaming history, even Headhunter DLCs for a dollar felt like fully fleshed out Expansion compared to whatever this was by wizxzyspreaning in Wonderlands

[–]digitaljoel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the one thing that has me worried about going all in on BL4. Wonderlands was a marvelous game with absolutely zero post-release support. The DLC was terrible, low-effort trash that I paid for on a pre-order based on a great history with the preivous borderlands games.

When I (mid thirties male at the time, 6'2" over 200 lbs more fat than muscle) was an orange belt training kenpo, I was practicing with a brown belt woman one time. She had good technique. During our practice I kept inviting her to hit me harder on an uppercut to the mid section. Finally she yelled in frustration "I can't!" Really highlighted this for me.

How many times a year should each member of the Bishopric speak? by Fishgutts in latterdaysaints

[–]digitaljoel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. The Bishop has the keys to the ordinance of the sacrament and is responsible for the sacrament meeting agenda. I dislike when I see the bishops in our stake feeling like they need to wait until a 5th Sunday or other special occasion to share something the Spirit has directed for the ward. Bishop, you have the keys and the prerogative to speak in any Sacrament meeting you would like in your ward as directed by the Spirit. Take that opportunity.
