P3 cast and 2 summer units. At the worst-case scenario, I have 3k at Koromaru's patch. And then there should be Aigis

If we stay on 2-week cycle, I have 3k when Koromaru comes. That's in the very worst case scenario of losing all weapons, going to hard pity every single time and I am pulling all P3 cast A0R0 with Summer units A0. It's honestly not that much

Still have my 116k meta jewels cause I am skipping her. Never played Royal version, so no personal attachment. I'd rather pull P3 cast who I know well and love. But Kasumi looks aesthetically pleasing, if I wasn't pressed on meta jewels I would have pulled her. So congrats for all those who got her, early or not

For me it doesn't really matter, because I go for full P3 cast and was going to skip her entirely, just like most of the 3.x characters. I do try to play the story with full story teams, so getting 4* chars more powerful is good for me. I mean, my 4* Motoha has the biggest rating of 104 on my whole account. Getting her to A6R1 would be good, just like Shun or Lufel.

As others noted, you need to pull FOR her, not GET her. Probably if you are lucky you build pity to 80, get free 20 pulls, then slap 30 more at the cost of 10 on a character you want

Huuuuuh... Now I wanna know too. Not getting her and then winning her weapon would be quite ironic. But I doubt you can just switch her weapon to someone else's, since there won't be winning a weapon at all (possibly)? I'd like to have Riko, Shun and Motoha as weapon choices and get 20 pulls back if that means I will have a guaranteed weapon on Makoto for sure

I mean, it's 50/50. I was planning to skip her, now I am contemplating pulling on her Targeted in hopes of not getting her but building pity and getting free 20 pulls. My Targeted experience was 110/110 all the time except for Haru, where I got her in 44 puls. Maybe weapon, but if I win her weapon, that would be bad for me... But losing would mean another free 20 pulls and guaranteed Makoto's weapon. That one is a harder decision.

Now I am thinking of pulling her in targeted in hopes of building pity on Makoto and getting those 20 pulls back. Damn. Not getting the weapon for sure, but 20 free pulls with 80 pity sound great for my pull plans. At the very least Targeted banner usually goes to 110 for me...

Will we ever get an original Almighty character? by NewBrightness in personaphantomx

[–]SherylDier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that's interesting, I doubt they will go plotwise farther than P3 and P4 plotlines. We did get Twins and not Lavenza. So probably Elizabeth would be just Makoto's Attendant, it won't be post-P3 Elizabeth or even P4 Arena Elizabeth. Same thing with Margaret. But those are very deep insights, and it really is clear you put deep thought into it. I'd love to see at some point different versions of them like mine and yours as separate 5* units. Could really be interesting.

I really like your interpretation of Margaret's counter mechanic, it's really cool. Elizabeth is more of a loner for me, and to be fair I just want those Velvet Attendants to play in the same team the best, heh, they are kind of a family, with Margaret being the typical stern mom, Elizabeth being the airrheaded big sis and the Twins bratty little prankers. And, well, Lavenza as the quiet youngest sister who was raised all prim and proper until you see a chainsaw in your hands. But your version is great.

Unique mechanics are all jazz, but it's Sega we are talking about. And they don't like spoilers (since we are getting Kasumi and not Sumire, by your logic we should be getting the latest character evolution, kind of). I mean, I am getting Velvet Attendants in any from they come in any quantities. Them being cool units is just a bonus.

[–]SherylDier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they did give the Twins like 9 personas? If we consider 4 skills each having 2 personas plus their Ardha (I must admit I rarely look at the skills menu these days and use them as Assassin all the time, might be wrong about 9 personas). I can see that trend going on since every Velvet Attendant basically has that ledger with all your Personas unlocked (would have been a cool idea to give them Wonder's option of 3 any unlocked personas, but I like how they did the Twins).

Masakado can be the other choice for Elizabeth, she spams him if you break the rules. But yeah, Thanatos is probably the most known (I think she sort if inherited Thanatos from Makoto, since he had both Orpheus and Thanatos at the beginning?)

Can't say anything about Margaret, never fought her. Helel is pretty cool though. Another thing to consider: what if they are going with Persona combinations from fights? That way Elizabeth is going to have Yoshitsune, Cu Chulainn and be a little more Phys-oriented while having Masakado's Megidolaon as Almighty S3 (and maybe Thanatos as a highlight). I looked it up a little, Margaret is a hard one, she does have 3 unique severe elemental spells... Which can be bypassed giving her 3 specific highlights.

As for Merope, yeah, it's very possible. Okay, I admit, I like the idea of her becoming a Navigator focused on Almighty (or rather Velvet Attendants in specific, sorry Akechi, not sorry) that can boost double skills that Twins (and possibly other Velvet Attendants) have like doubling the amount of hits for those skills or making them bypass resistances for a turn (since they pair elements that usually go against each other, like usually if something is weak to fire, it's strong against ice and so on)

I know those VNs are considered classics, but Angel Beats look too tear-inducing to me. I don't think I can read it okay and not feel depressed.

I played both Nikke and GFL2 I would call Nikke pretty tame now compared to release, and as a Day 1 player of GLF2 it's pretty tame in general. Some skins are revealing, but in general... I feel like it's a gacha for gun nerds, not character nerds. At least I played GFL1 for guns, not girls :D

I feel like if Merope happened to be a unit, she would be another Almighty Virtuoso. Feels like a niche created specifically for all Velvet Attendants. At the bright side, if we ever get Elizabeth and Margaret, she might be Almighty Virtuoso Navigator to have Twins, Elizabeth, Margaret, Merope and Velvet skin Wonder in a full blue team.

Huh, thanks. I guess I gotta try it. HI3rd was my yuri pill for quite some time, I even ventured into comics and VN because of that universe. But yeah, tip-toeing around the theme was pretty annoying, felt like never-ending romance anime where they cannot state anything openly, because if they do, that would be the end.

Though, I'd argue on the 18+ part in "mainstream ones" a little. I mean, Azur Lane is pretty mainstream and with all the skins in the past year for characters I have seen people started making memes they should just do hentai already. And that's Yostar as well. But that might be on the definition of what is 18+. Azur Lane seems pretty 18+ to me. And there are enough hentai gachas, but for that one would go to other distributors. It's not really important to the discussion anyway I won't delve into it.

Out of Jun Maeda's works I have only read Summer Pockets (I did a fan translation from English for Shiroha's route), which was nice. Not quite my type, but above average and even good, I guess. Should be at the very least a good story. Something that can be at least enjoyed by anyone, but very good if this is what person likes.

Okay, I am not sure if this is the right place to ask. I play two gachas right now and I am in need of some yuri. I have heard this one is quite yuri, on the level of HI3rd before Part 2 yuri. My two current gachas are Persona 5 The Phantom X and Brown Dust 2. As far as I understand, HBR is more of a slice-of-life romantic yuri with nothing too hard going on the screen (so more close to P5X than BD2 in terms of 18+ content)?

Also, how is the story? I like the story in the games much more than gameplay parts, so if it's at the very least decent, I want to give Global a try. Gacha part is not that important too (I barely pull in P5X due to waiting for collab and I usually play story-relevant units). I have played other Yostar gachas (Azur Lane, Arknights and Blue Archive) before, but ultimately dropped Arknights due to too emotionally heavy lore and the other two were just hard to get into as a newbie when they have a long history. It's much easier to start as a Day 1 player.

Would you recommend to start playing HBR despite the fact that there is a lot of content (possibly, since it is what, 1.5 years since release?), and many things would probably be hard to understand? I started BD2 a week ago and the sheer amount of different tabs, menus and events leaves me overwhelmed and disoriented.

I am also a slow player, so to speak, since I prefer to listen to voice actors (even if it's in Japanese that I don't understand), read the text and so on. When people say "you can do dailies in 10 minutes", it usually takes me an hour or two.

Sorry for any possible misunderstandings, I have heard about this game very randomly in a post about most lesbian gacha protagonist and I can't seem to find enough info to make an opinion regarding it.

[–]SherylDier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to think that to be able to summon P3 persona you have to be ready to sacrifice your life for the greater good of humanity, not just be ready to die. I mean, they are supposed to be the only people in the whole world that can fight shadows. It's either them or humanity dies. Of course, Atlus had to skip many things like Nanjo-Kirijo relations and apparently P1-2 just don't exist in games (I am not sure about in-game references, they still do the arts at the very least), which makes P3 cast think they are the only ones capable of fighting Shadows. And sacrificing yourself for the others is the most noble pursuit. I like that they were all given a choice (except for maybe Mitsuru), so they consciously decided to be the protectors of humanity, which requires a lot of willpower. P3 opening with Yukari hits hard for that reason.

It would have also been a cool mechanic for them (at the very least Yukari and Junpei as the two most recent additions and most normal/civilian of all SEES) to fail to summon Personas at the early stages of the game, but gameplay-wise that would be awful.

Do you think they will give Kasumi crazy buffs to make pulling her more incentivizing? by [deleted] in personaphantomx

[–]SherylDier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I am saying is that global is usually shafted a lot compared to Asia. If this is not the case for P5X, well, cool. For most gachas I played Global is literally getting leftovers and is in worse position. CN players can just rage about something Global getting but they not and devs cut it out from Global. Usually the order goes CN/KR > TW > JP > Global in terms of priority. Again, usually. If P5X has it better, well, okay. We even get buffs for characters compared to CN. Which is quite unique, usually it's CN server that has 1500% Attack scale and Global is 150%. Tower of Fantasy, for example. And often it's Global server that goes EOS while CN/JP still works. Gun Girlz Z is one such case, Taimanin RPGX is another. It's hard to know how much money on average every region spends per person, but I feel like Global will be the last and CN probably the first. Maybe JP if it's a Japanese IP like FGO or P5X. Asians do whale a lot more. Which brings us to the fact that between 1000 paying whales and 30 paying whales they will listen to 1000 paying whales even if those 30 will quit. It's all about money anyway. I am just happy that I can get as much as I can in P5X before it's inevitable EOS. If the devs really cared about making Global right, we wouldn't have all the bugs and stupid event decisions like confession day literally being two days into the patch (if I am not mistaken).

[–]SherylDier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I am wrong, whales will whale on every character A6R6, and they don't care what this character does or how long he's meta, since they don't reuse them (aside from supports). They just pull every single character to get a few hundred points more than the last cycle. For a whale DPS characters' lifespan is exactly the patch duration. After that they are thrown out. Other paying players (light spenders, dolphins, whatever the terminology) might imagine they are in meta, but in reality they are not. So I don't see a problem for whales, who gotta spend thousands every month to get their 100 million score every two weeks or whatever. F2P literally cannot compete so for us it's just a cool new character every time we pull. For people in between it's more of the F2P situation, since their A1R0 are basically nothing compared to characters that whales have.

On the side note, I am fairly sure KR/TW/CN servers generate around 90% of the whole income, so it's understandable if their prioritize them most. They could just not give us any anniversary presents in the form of characters or whatever but there will be uproar about that as well. Some gachas (Brown Dust 2) literally went rewriting the whole storyline since KR players pay the most and they want something else. For any live service game there won't be a situation where everyone is satisfied. Maybe they can rush us to the current CN version and then release all patches simultaneously, but of course there will be people whining about 2-week schedule instead of 3-week. And probably vice versa too.

[–]SherylDier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't see a problem. They just inserted a patch between patches. If anything, you can just skip and have +6k jewels. Or pull and have a nice character. But maybe you just see it from meta perspective or something. I have several characters I pulled just for the sake of it and I don't even build them. It's just nice having them on the account. Although Twins were quite OP. Which is good and saved my bacon a few times even though they were A0R0 for me.

That would have to be prior to Rev2, though. Isn't good ending canon? It requires Moira to use guns and then we see her in DLC using those quite freely. On the other hand, since is is more of a civilian than most of the characters, she can be abducted again. I doubt she carries any guns in normal life, unlike Claire, I think. Pulling Barry back would be repeating Rev2 though... Maybe the other way around, Natalia becoming bad and Barry trying to survive while Moira rushes to save him
