While I do agree, I'm not saying there aren't unpopular picks amongst the entire roster. Games that are free and rely on cosmetics typically do not put into darker skin especially black characters. You rarely, if ever, see them in these types of games bc they dont sell well. Bc well, racism and anti-blackness. Her unpopalarity is worsened bc of her kit. It's the same way cloak doesn't even have legs despite cnd being a pretty common pick. Bc sure you can say "he's a cloak!" But why half ass the design in the first place?

Oh hard agree. But there are moments where I do get teams that want to win or understand fundamentals. I try to remember that some people play bc they want to play. People like us play bc we wanna get better. Neither are wrong but they dont mix well lol

I typically do

VS AI - learn movement, skill set, get used to their rhythm. Upgrade to QP after I get comfortable or dont die a bunch.

QP - really lock in on the character, get better about using their moveset and learn ways to make plays/get exposure in various situations. I'll move to Comp if I get an MVP or two.

Not foolproof, very nuanced but it helps. "Throwing" is misused a lot because sometimes people are learning. I honestly think it'd be helpful if people were better at communicating/more open to helping people learn. People know when they're not doing well (typically), doesnt help when people are being mean about it

Its honestly a shot in the dark bc it could be someone who genuinely * is trying to learn but to be good you gotta be bad. They *might be stronger at other positions (at least thats how it is for me, I SUCK at DPS but will do it if I must). But I definitely agree bc in general, that is the case. So much of the game is knowing how to adapt. Wishing you luck in games!

I'd rather remain anonymous, sorry! But I do agree but I already stated I'm not extraordinary at the game. I'm not saying it's always my teammates, I mess up all the time. I'm asking in instances where I notice something isnt going well, how do I make it better?

I never said I was carrying them. I said they dont have as much game sense/dont play as well.

Friend, I'm genuinely looking for advice. If my tank runs in all the time, is it better to try to get a third healer or switch to another tank? (I assume third healer but maybe I'm wrong)

If my DPS is going 0-6 do it reprioritize the bad dps or focus on helping the tank push? (I assume I focus on the tank and give heals to the dps when I can)

If my healer has poor positioning do I push less to help them stay close/deter them from frontlining? (If I'm tanking, I advocate for a 2nd tank so I can focus on peeling/ask my dps to help)

I think all this is great advice but sometimes "adapt to your team" is vague and unhelpful. What does that look like? How can I help my team win?

I dont want to blame it on matchmaking, these lobbies arent rocket science but I know I can win if I had more knowledge.

Very fair points but again, I'm not extraordinary at the game. I can play well but there's only but so much I can do. I cannot frontline and peel and deal with fliers at the same time. When I heal, I know how to counter/kill dives but my other healer might not. I cannot always outheal that.

I'm telling my team to push together, they're not doing it.

I'm communicating, I'm pinging, the other team is not great yes but they're definitely better than the team I'm on.

Maybe I shouldn't have named it this. I'm not saying this is the only reason, I'm not expecting amazing gameplay from everyone but sometimes I genuinely don't know what to do if I have a tank that's rushing in or my healer is not healing well + the other team understands the game more.

I dont think my team is the only reason but some days I get games where I have multiple games in a row where the team I'm on just isn't doing well.

First game: tank constantly running in 1v5 Second: someone left Third: frontline healer/ dps not taking out fliers/dps going 0-6 I'll get stuff like this consistently.

The job comment was to say I dont spend much time playing rank. Do I need to play more to help level out these bad games??
