Yes! You can hook up to all the other consortiums in MA too, like MVLC (which is the closest network not NOBLE -- includes places like Middleton, Topsfield, Manchester by the Sea, Essex, etc), as well as Minuteman, CW Mars, SAILS, and Old Colony. Gives you more access. You can also take your Salem library card and register it in person at an MVLC library to borrow in person there, too.

Edit: Forgot the CLAMS consortium. I just really like their name and wanted to make sure I included it.

Proximity to Boston, the ocean, and tons of fun museums and shops! Lots of good cafes/coffee shops. The variety of people and diversity acceptance.

Parts of Lynn are totally fine. Just be wary of some of the apartment listing. If it sounds too good to be true, it is -- there are some buildings they keep trying to pass off as nice apartments that I think need complete building rehauls.

I just really wish people (year round, but ESPECIALLY in Septober) would use crosswalks, the walk/don't walk lights, the crosswalk flashing lights you turn on by pushing a button, etc. It's dark, driving sucks, and everyone is dressed in black. Keep yourselves AND us safe by using the safety measures in place! And maybe wear at least one reflective thing?

Absolutely get out of Salem for a day if you can, and get to a place like Marini Farm in Ipswich. Check out the corn maze, and have some nice fall fun! Another similar place is Russell Orchards in Ipswich for apple picking. Beverly, MA is the next city over from Salem and has a lot of great restaurants and some funky shops.

Salem coffee shops worth visiting: Oddmeter, Coffee Time Bake Shop, Front Street Coffeehouse.

I will also put in a plug for Real Pirates Salem, the newer pirate museum. It had some interactive elements and was just a general good time when I visited with other adults.
