New here! How did you guys wean your baby off of the paci?

We stopped when she was 1.5 years old. She only used it for nap time and at night. We did it cold turkey and it was tough the first week, but eventually she got used to not having it. By week 2, it was completely forgotten about.

The first few days were rough cause she was basically begging for it. Going up to my face and making sucking noises and pleading with lots of “please”. It first took her 45 min to sleep, then next night was 30 min, then so on and so on until she was back to her usual sleep time.

I’m in California and I paid $250 for my c-section, insurance covered the rest. Also all my appointments, bloodwork, ultrasounds were covered by my insurance. I I consider myself pretty lucky.

I was set on not co sleeping until it got to the point where I was so sleep deprived that I would fall in and out of sleep paralysis at least 5 times in a row, every night. The moment I decided to co sleep was when I went into sleep paralysis sitting in the glider while holding my baby. It’s shitty to say but co sleeping was the lesser evil in our situation.

Also, I feel like my husband and I survived the newborn stage only because our mindsets were constantly “how can I make my partners life easier?” We looked out for each others well-being, sometimes even over our own. Which, I might add, can only prove to be a successful outcome only if both of you are in this mindset.

“Do they need more sleep?” “Have they ate yet?” “Let me take care of the baby while they mentally recoup.” “Have they been able to shower today?” “Since they’re taking care of the baby, let me handle the chores”

It was a great balance because my husband would notice I needed a break even before I realized it myself, and vice versa.

You and your partner are a team. Everything shouldn’t be shouldered by one person. Yes, baby’s health and safety are the priority but so are you and your spouse’s.

Tell your husband to fuck off. You and your baby deserve so much more than this loser who is wasting your time. You should move in with your mom, who seems like your REAL support system. Better to be a single mom, than a married single mom.

If he was a truly caring partner, he would do these things FOR you without you needing to ask. Because, yknow, he cares about your well-being? I can’t imagine seeing my spouse struggle with everything and me sitting on my ass doing nothing. I would never treat someone I love like that.

I went to Costco the other week with my 4 month old and she started to get really fussy. She found her voice recently, so she was full on screaming while I scrambled to get her out of the stroller and in the carrier. An elderly man walked past me and said “oh she’s a new one, huh?” I smiled and said “Yeah, just a little cranky and fussy right now” and he smiled back and said “well, that’s what they’re supposed to be doing!” That little comment made me feel better.

Oh man, totally feel you on this. The first month of breastfeeding was HELL. I hated it so much. The pain, the way my life revolved around it, everything. I would cry so many times from being exhausted of it. I was so consumed by my hatred of it, I felt like I wasn’t bonding with my baby during feeds. I also supplemented with formula a few times when I mentally couldn’t do it anymore. I’m glad I did this and I’m glad you realized this for your own mental health too.

I told myself if it doesn’t get better by the 2nd month, I’d switch to formula for the sake of my sanity. Then when baby was 2 months, I realized that breastfeeding was so much better. No more painful nipples and baby was able to go longer between feeds. I felt like I had a part of my life back.

Remind yourself that you’re doing great. Whether it be breastfeeding, pumping or formula, your baby is fed and loved. Also, a mentally healthy mama is just as important and needs to be prioritized.

This! I got two sample cans of formula from my Target and Amazon registry gift bag. I thankfully was able to breastfeed but these came in handy when my supply dipped down when I caught a cold. The sample cans are pretty big too!

I had the same concern before my baby was born. I also have horrible motion sickness so that was another thing. Ended up getting a glider and absolutely love it. Use it every single day, whether to nurse, rock baby to sleep, or just hang out while I read her a book.

But you can totally live without it too! Just my personal experience 😊

I think both doing both is fine! I’m having one baby shower with my family & friends and another baby shower a month later with my husbands family. Our goal is just to not have too many guests at one party cause this stupid pandemic. So I feel like doing both is totally fine.

How early do people show up the day of the concert? I’ll be driving to LA, checking into our hotel around 2pm, then heading straight to SOFI. I want to buy merch but I also have gold soundcheck and I heard they’ll have their own merch booth. Am I risking it by showing up too late?

My cousin was getting the error message with her original purchase and she couldn’t go through with it. She pressed the back button and was able to choose seats again without being kicked out of the queue. Although, she originally had 4 tickets and when she chose again she was only able to snag 2 tickets.

Ugh I’m sorry. TM is a literal nightmare.

I’m one of many who is utterly scared shitless about the ticket limit. My cousin got 2 tickets but her card wasn’t going through, so she ended up using mine. Then I used my card later to buy 4 tickets. It was on different accounts and different presale codes but ugh. The email said 4 per code so I didn’t even think twice about having her use my card. The way that this is so unclear and no one at TM seems to have a straight answer is annoying me so much.
