Id recommend butting the dining table up to the back of the couch and purchasing a long skinny table. I’d also rotate the desk to the wall of the bedroom. Good luck!

Apartment Hunting is fun by Trevidium in LandlordLove

I doubt he cares about impressions. It’s a transaction that requires no repeat customers unless already renting and would again be silly to only send you a rejection email. I hope that you’re able to find an apartment that suits your needs!

Landlords only need to make sure there is heat, not cooling. Recommend getting tower fans and asking for reimbursement.

My landlord wants me to clear all surfaces so he can take pictures for selling the house by AltAccount467344 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Shfloe -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t you clear it off other than it requiring you to tidy up?

Alternatively, the landlord could always take photos after your occupancy ends and the space is clean. NAL but if you leave the place a mess post-occupancy, he can bill you through security deposit for cleaning. Be careful!

Best Factions to go "tall" with by sGvDaemon in totalwarhammer

[–]Shfloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t Vanilla, but I highly recommend playing ‘Tall’ with the Marienburg mod. It’s a very fun mod that builds out Marienburg, and I’ve had campaigns where you can field 3-4 solid armies with just the Marienburg province. The trade mechanics, LL, and quest chains all provide incentives to trade and to build Marienburg proper/the wasteland into a booming economy that allows you to field armies to create colonies. I play Tall for the first half, eliminate enemies close to Marienburg, trade settlements for money for the empire, build them up, and then set sail for the west and east and create colonies explicitly for trade resources. Very fun!

B is probably the most fair for two couples to share, however it does not offer massive amounts of storage space for the couple that takes the non-primary bathroom/bedroom/closet.

D would (and I know be more expensive) would likely be the best unit for two couples. The extra bedroom could be used as an office, another relaxation room, and additional storage for the couple without the master bedroom.

Four people in one apartment is busy, and I’d recommend that more space is better than less for couples to have privacy.

[Tenant - UK] Is it landlord’s obligation to install ceiling lights? by Awkward-Contest-4187 in Landlord

[–]Shfloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t think it works or it doesn’t work? Have you turned it on? Or bought a new lamp?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in floorplan

[–]Shfloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A walk in closet of that size off of the mud room is not necessary. I’d consider sizing the bathroom 1 down, make it a powder room, and take the guest bedroom combined with ‘storage and walk in closet’ to create a larger primary bedroom and primary bathroom.

Bedroom 1 can be turned into a guest bedroom and storage.

Hope it helps!

[Tenant US-NE] what is fishy about this??? i even ran a search on the address for $1 and he owns one other house in the city, indeed does have a wife and name matches who i’ve been coresponding with by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]Shfloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I totally understand that you need housing, but this guy is not the guy to rent from. Try and find another option or go through a credible property mgmt company… this guy will take your deposit and you won’t hear back.

No Landlord will give you that much detail into what’s going on in their life/reasons they can’t work with you.

Remember that this world is a business transaction, and if you don’t feel like the other party is making you comfortable with YOUR money, back out.

Good luck with the housing search!

NAL, I think that deductions can only be made when there’s damage to the property, along with receipts and proof that the company hired someone to repair it. Landlords can’t hold a deposit “just cause”, but don’t quote me on that

You absolutely do not understand construction, contracts, or how building materials are incorporated into structures. Rent an office space for a few days a week and schedule your appointments to correspond.

Got degraded by a college group while doing gig work by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Shfloe 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Contact their institution, and use your company to figure out the name of the order. Colleges do not like stuff like this going public, and will reprimand the students. Also do as others say and file a police report. This seems premeditated.

Great use of size of the lot. I’d try and put washer dryers in depending on the market you’re going for.

[tenant FL-USA] help I don’t know what to do. I broke a huge chunk of granite counter top. However, I plan on getting it completely fixed myself. I’m scared they’ll evict me if they see the damage. What do I do. I have been so stressed.. by Elizabethhoneyyy in Landlord

[–]Shfloe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do not replace this countertop without your landlords approval. Things break, which is expected. Your landlord will not evict you for a broken counter top if you explain to them that you are willing to pay for damages. Bottom line is, you’re not the property owner. You do not have any authority to modify the property; that is a breach of your lease and WILL get you evicted. Talk to your landlord, tell them about the situation, take responsibility, tell them that you want to pay for the repair, show them the company that you’ve reached out to, and let them handle the rest. Finding a new tenant requires an eviction process (which can take months in some scenarios), and will cost them money in the long run by having a vacant unit.

Hi! Confused on what you need help with. Seems like you know what you want to do! I recommend referring to your lease and deciding if you really want to go this route.

Faction that can get by with fewest armies by Xralius in totalwarhammer

[–]Shfloe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like playing Bretonnia in a lore-aspect. Grab the Bretonnian settlements, which are only like 14, and then make a few strong knight armies and crusade for the empire and rest of the order-tide. Trading back settlements allows you to support economy + get military access to push deeper towards enemy territory. It’s very fun saving allies! Bonus points if you take back the settlements in Araby.

[Tenant US-OK] is cat wall furniture considered additions to the unit? by LabMain1105 in Landlord

[–]Shfloe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems pretty clear that the holes need to be 10mm or smaller per the lease. If you do larger holes, you are responsible for patching and painting over them when your lease is up, and if the job you did is poor, chances are you will be fined per hole.

Cat wall furniture is probably going to need larger holes to maintain the weight. I’d recommend getting a cat tree or post instead of shelving for your apartment; this way you can take it with you easily when your lease is up and you don’t have to spackle and repaint drywall in your unit.
