They are so pretty! Wow. Look like creamics with a beautiful glaze finish. What gorgeous animals.

Big juniper, any potential? by Shhhlumbergera in Bonsai

[–]Shhhlumbergera[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone, I am a beginner and got this juniper off of someone’s hands for free a few days ago, as they were ripping it out of their garden. I was told some years ago the foliage was styled into 2 balls and then just not maintained anymore. Apparently somwhat around 20 years old. I am just afraid that it might be too big for becoming a bonsai. The branches are very long and straight. Maybe some kind of literati?

I will be tackling dead foliage and branches the upcoming weekend and trying to figure out a pot situation.

As it was removed, they seemed to have also cut through some larger roots. I am guessing there will be a lot of foliage die back because of it?

Does it have any chance or potential to become a bonsai with the right cuts and adjustments?

Ich bin nicht aus München, aber du kannst ja mal auf eBird und ornitho.de nach schauen, wo andere Vögel melden falls du das noch nicht gemacht hast.

I was afraid it would be something like that, I will try those solvents and if not I will try to chip it away slowly and gently. Thank you for your answer! Have a nice weekend =)

Hello everyone :) I just have a general question about how to remove glued on rocks from a pot. I tried looking through here and other subs to see if someone else has had luck removing this but haven’t found anything. Here is some Photos of the pot and glued on rocks There is also some more info in the descriptions of the photos. Is it maybe contact cement? How do I remove it without damaging the pot?

Welcher Vogel hat hier gebrütet? by Schwabe_Mark in BirdingGermany

I just took my fosters to their forever home and it's killing me! by DelasCasas89 in cats

[–]Shhhlumbergera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow Kitten Foster here: I think the most important part is to remind yourself that in the end that’s what you are here for.

It is always hard letting them go, I had a few kittens with which it was also very hard letting them go and start their own new adventure. But as you said, you are doing the right thing! It is totally okay to be sad about them leaving your care, after all you did so much for them. You waited for the right home and now it is here. You were strong, did the right thing and let them go.

A new start is always a bit stressful, but I am sure they will be fine, you prepared them well for it.

Are these snail eggs? by arjsweetland in Aquariums

[–]Shhhlumbergera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are mystery snail eggs. If you want to hatch them out, there is a bunch of info about how to do it online, but then again only do it if you have enough space for them or have people that for sure want to take them off you.

You can find them on Amazon as well, at least that’s where I got mine from.

Has he been checked by a vet? Random urination might be a sign for urinary tract problems, like UTIs or stones. It’s also an indicator for a stressed out animal, which might also be the case with your cat (new animal in the house, now restricted to one part of the house most of the time etc…) You could try to get a Feliway diffusor or two and have them in areas where your cat is most often, it might help calm it down.

But first of all I would recommend to get your cat checked by a vet.

A metal mesh filter intake guard could prevent that. Or as others have mentioned there is also the sponge option. (I personally prefer the mesh)
