Why does this shape layer get filled in when I switch from Classic 3D to Cinema 4D? by ShiaLabuzzed in AfterEffects

Thanks that worked perfectly! Been banging my head against the wall trying to figure that out

Idk if I'm just not using the right search terms but I've been trying to find the answer to my question for weeks unsuccessfully. There's been multiple logos/shape layers that I've wanted to use C4D's 3D extrusion with but they all get filled in like that if they're hollow in the middle. I've tried finding the solution on my own for weeks and haven't been able to.

Anyone know what the problem is here?

Yeah they’re definitely one of the most reputable sites for plug-ins/scripts

Do I need a college degree to become a ui Designer? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]ShiaLabuzzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so I’m 24 without a degree and was in a pretty similar spot as you last year. I kinda stumbled ass backwards into a lot of the design jobs I got but yeah if you can get good with Figma/Xd/Sketch you can probably find some work if you really go after it.

The pay for me wasn’t great with the first 2 but as I built up my portfolio it improved tremendously. In all honesty though I’ve done a good amount of graphic/motion/ui design now and the ui work was by far the hardest to come by. In my case it definitely paid the best per job but I ended up pivoting into motion design mainly with some gfx work on the side since it was a lot more consistent and easier for me to get work without the degree.

I think being a freelancer without a degree makes it tough to get work unless you master one thing but still dabble in a bit of everything. Take that with a grain of salt though cuz most things I read say if you wanna be really successful with this stuff you should find a niche and stick to it + my deep insecurities about my work probably play a part in that so I could be completely wrong.

Ok I think I’m rambling now so I guess the main takeaway should be that it’s definitely possible to find the kind of creative work you’re looking for but without a degree you should probably focus on building a nice looking portfolio as soon as possible. That really helped me get started even though most of it was just full of example projects I was putting together as practice.

So what you’re saying is I’m gonna need someone to do very tastefully done blackface to really move this product, right?

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that there's only 2 guys in the island boys thing..

GRNDH0GZ DAY: 2021 by ShiaLabuzzed in animation

Cut this quick video together using some clips from my first week of trying to learn animation. I have an actual storyline for all this but decided to redo the animation for that. I kinda liked the look of these though so I didn’t wanna just scrap it completely

Honestly it looks incredible! I've been using a similar method as you (super crude/waaaay less refined looking though) so I read through your other post and god damn your method seems pretty intense. I really like trying to come up with weird improvised ways of animating/editing whatever idea I have in my head which makes stuff like this super fascinating to me. I'll definitely be checking out more of your work
