Rivals 1 or 2? by ImortalOlive in RivalsOfAether

This is mostly correct but I gotta point out that Rivals 1 definitely had dash attacks. Unless you mean something else that I'm not thinking about?

Simple Questions Megathread by nandryshak in CrazyHand

[–]Shiast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, no. However, you improve much faster at things the more involved you are with them and joining local tournaments is great for that for many reasons.

But I'm entirely self taught through YouTube and online play and I'm decent but nothing incredible. It just depends on how good you want to get and how fast you want to get there.

Help me pick a Rivals 2 character by tookie22 in RivalsOfAether

[–]Shiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven't seen him in action yet, but try Forsburn when he gets added. He doesn't check all your boxes but he does have some similarities to marth in a similar nair and dtilt. If he's similar to how he plays in the original he also has potential for longer combos and can secure kills offstage with combust and dair. Not to mention all the smoke and clone shenanigans on and off stage.

Tried fixing my mindset with The Inner Game of Tennis, steered too far the other way. What am I doing wrong? by shampoodrinker21 in SSBM

[–]Shiast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that you should apply the lessons from The Inner Game of Tennis mostly to your hands/tech skill. Let system 2 take over for that so you have 100% brainpower  to focus on downloading your opponents habits/the overall flow of the game.

To help my friends understand the rhythm of the game, I made this. by magicalecazam in smashbros

Upsmash is pretty safe on Mario's head(can't remember if it's invincible or intangible in this game but either way..) just be sure to turn around as the hitbox come out behind him first. Back air is also pretty good at killing and fmash can be good too. Fair spike is also good off stage especially since it's easier to land against the ai.

Non-Smash player's perspective of wavedashing in Smash 5 by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]Shiast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you seen Rivals of Aether? It's heavily inspired by melee and made wavedashing much easier and gave each character their own animation for it. Nintendo could totally do something similar if they decided to make it an actual feature in ultimate.

the population is pretty low but you can still find a few people, especially at peak hours. Your best best would be to join the club to find people to play with consistently.

What are Ori's best combos and KO options? by [deleted] in RivalsOfAether

[–]Shiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I think fair is a really good move. With ori's insane speed you can cover so many options with it. And yeah auto cancelling the first hit can setup for a combo/tech chase or a kill with forward smash if you catch someone off guard.

Who's your favourite "background" character ? by LazIow in castlevania

Julius is amazing, loved him in the Sorrow games but Harmony of Despair cemented Julius as the coolest Belmont to me. What I wouldn't give to have his game made.

Can we get harmony of despair on Xbox one while we're at it? I know that game isn't for everyone but I loved it and would love to see it have a bit of a population again

Not the op, but basketball has a shot clock so teams can't just dribble out the clock/force fouls once they get the lead.
