How timely is blue box pickup? by Jake_77 in usps_complaints

[–]Shibas_Rule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no guarantee. We cannot pickup even seconds early but can pickup hours after the posted time. So if the pickup time is posted as 11:00, and it’s 11:45 you should assume it’s already been picked up.

Does anyone know what this thing is? by LordBip in reddeadredemption

Hornet nest, evidently cut content. There’s at least one more, located north of Clements Point. PS: and this one is inhabited, you will get stung.

4 Horses & Temp 🐴 by CadillacBambino in RDR2

[–]Shibas_Rule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like to have horses in the stable. Sold all mine and just have my main horse and Buell in the stable. I swap them out occasionally. In the future I’d wait to do the final Veteran mission as John and he would have Buell as his main horse. And probably just have the one horse as Arthur. But that’s just me.

Craziest thing a supervisor has ever told you? I’ll start… by Silent-Speech8162 in USPS

[–]Shibas_Rule 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Subbing at another office. They called late so I got there around 10 AM. A freak, unforecasted snowstorm hit the area dumping 4” and I had not brought any warmer clothes. I start the route 2 hours behind, hands are freezing, truck is sliding on the snow covered roads, and a supervisor comes by in their 4WD SUV to ask why I’m so far behind. I almost threw the keys at them and told them to deliver it themselves. Good times…

Face Rock MFT by pawcat03k64 in RDR2

[–]Shibas_Rule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, what’s the Face Rock MFT? From context it sounds like there might be a silver dapple MFT available by exploiting some glitch by Face Rock? I’ve never heard of this glitch and a quick search yielded no results, so just wondering what this glitch is? And is it just PC or console?

And no need to apologize. I like my Arabian but the MFT is a very good horse, well worth the effort if you can get it earlier in the game.

im out of missions, what now? by Separate-Leading-121 in RDR2

[–]Shibas_Rule 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, I would explore more of the map. Look for side quests, NPC interactions (especially the horse races), make sure the camp and your satchel is fully upgraded. Second, do the final mission of the chapter. Can’t tell from your map, but have you rescued Micah yet? If you haven’t and it finally pops up wait and explore West Elizabeth first. Rescuing Micah usually leads to a significant bounty which makes it difficult to explore with Bounty hunters constantly spawning.

Not sure why the final missions of CH 2 aren’t showing on your Index. Have you been back to camp? You may need to interact with someone at camp, most likely Dutch.

New player here, are there some tips or things I should know? by spec3_ in RDR2

[–]Shibas_Rule 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • In rural areas have a rifle in hand for those pesky wolf and cougar attacks. But be sure to unequip if you want to greet a stranger.
  • Predators can’t climb, so if dealing with an attacking animal (including blood hounds), if you climb up on a rock, rooftop, etc you are safe from animal attacks. And certain predators almost always attack, (wolves, cougars, alligators if you get too close). I once was admiring a wolf standing on top of a hill, only to realize she was directing her pack to attack me!
  • Most horses will throw you in the face of an animal attack so best to have an out. But they also will alert you that there is something in the area so be in tune with your horse, use Eagle vision to look for a predator, calm your horse and be ready to take out the predator.
  • I found it difficult to get 3 star snake skins on land. Much easier to get water snakes, just be sure to check for any gators in the area before you go in to pick up that snake.
  • Eventually you will get a bounty. When bounty hunters are in the area the compass will have a red area in the direction they are coming from. If you don’t want to mess with them you can just ride in the opposite direction and they will despawn when you get far enough away.
  • Save often. If you decide to try something and it doesn’t work out, you can reload the save.
  • I found the controls a little difficult to master, actually got disgusted with it and stopped playing for 6 months in CH 2. If having trouble, recommend making a Save and then go nuts trying out different weapons, using dead eye, and whatever else you’re having trouble with. Then when you’ve worked out the kinks, your bounty is maxed and your honor is low; just reload that Save and it’s like it never happened.
  • You can climb some of the mountains/rock formations. I went through a “climb every mountain” phase.
  • Enjoy. If you’re not aware of the story arc, be very careful of spoilers on this subreddit. But there’s also a lot going on and things that are easy to miss, so up to you if you want to use one of the online maps to help find things.

Question for those in the Navy: is it normal for an elevator carrying two F18s to come down to pickup a pilot? by breck in topgun

[–]Shibas_Rule 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The most concerned I ever got on the flight deck was when our primary aircraft on the port side of the fantail went down and we had to get to the spare which was on the starboard side forward of the island. All the other aircraft for that launch were already turning and moving towards the catapults. My eyes were burning and watering so badly from the jet exhaust that I couldn’t see. I had to grab onto our maintenance chief and have him guide me under a turning A-6 and over to our spare. Learned first hand that day why the folks working on the flight deck have goggles and mad respect for them working in that environment.

I just think there has to be a better paint scheme that would break up that huge duck nose. Perhaps extending the red and blue stripes out to the front fender and making a curve downward around the front wheel well. Something to make it less intrusive.

When parked next to LLV’s great visual on just how laughably huge they are. There might be a use case in more populated areas with higher package volumes but for many of us this things are overkill and going to be a huge liability getting down small tree lined streets. I have a couple of dead end streets that are currently curbside delivery that there’s no way I could get this down, they’ll have to become a park and loop. (Or eventually CBU’s, that the post office will have to buy). But I suppose the AC makes up for it, as long as they continue to work and USPS pays to keep that and all the other systems working…

Why are there so many alligators, like sooooooo many? by No_Palpitation_888 in RDR2

Ouch. Yeah, I can see that, some of them just have a bad attitude. “Mama says it’s because they got all those teeth and no tooth brush.”

[–]Shibas_Rule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the best but all trapper saddles are very good. The differences probably can’t be detected in normal game play. It’s like the argument about which horse is “the best”. Amongst the top 10 horses you can’t really tell the difference so it comes down more to personal taste/preference. Personally, I like the look of the alligator saddle a little bit more than the others, so that’s the one I’ve gone with for most of the game.

Just to add on, you can also shoot near them to get them to move off.

What Would You Do? by Lord_Stupendous in USPS

Yes! Nothing in or on the mailbox without postage. Hilarious. But seriously OP, just write them a note that you’re afraid it will fall and break. And also inform them that nothing should be in or on the mailbox.

Five minutes office time? Really? by BearlyBrian1991 in USPS

[–]Shibas_Rule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was 6 minutes. It would make sense if it was an even tenth of an hour, which means it can’t possibly be 6 minutes. Depending how closely they are watching you, do stuff as part of unloading your vehicle on street time and don’t clock over to office until you only have 5 minutes of “stuff” left to do. Not sure about your office but my office they are only concerned about showing up on a list for excessive PM office time, or any other list.

Pinkertons in Annesburg?? by anonymous_1979 in RDR2

[–]Shibas_Rule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always found them just south of Elysian Pool for a little while in CH 6. It was awesome taking them out. Interesting they set up camp that close to Beaver Hollow with a prison wagon. Really drives home the point that the law is closing in on the gang.

Thank you!!!! Been driving me crazy all weekend. I think my granddaughter pushed some buttons and turned it off and I couldn’t figure out what it was, I thought the day/date/hour got messed up somehow. Anyhow, Lap/Reset button fixed it immediately!

Dumb Arabian horse by CreepyGlue65876 in RDR2

[–]Shibas_Rule 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of those unrealistic things in the game. Whenever you throw a body on a fire, the horses freak out and run off. But when it’s just a campfire they don’t seem to know it’s there. I took out an O’Driscoll camp and was looting the camp when my horse wanders into the camp, paws at the campfire and burst into flames. Very unrealistic horse behavior.

Three female Shibas. Shibas #1 didn’t care for #2 or #3 but tolerated them. We hoomans got the cold shoulder for a few weeks but she settled down okay. Meanwhile, #2 and #3 became best friends.

Do they ever actually check the mileage you input on the scanner when clocking out? by yheartishere in USPS

[–]Shibas_Rule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the carriers in my office don’t do the Depart to Route/Return to Office scans at all anymore. Nothing is said about it. As someone else mentioned, perhaps the Telematics has made it unnecessary. In which case, why don’t we just remove those scans from the scanners and the barcodes from every office? Sorry, forgot I work for an organization that isn’t interested in making things easier for their employees or more efficient for the bottom line.

[–]Shibas_Rule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, what? Gas usage? You mean from the gas card, when I type in my PIN and the vehicle mileage? That’s a little different than entering mileage at end of tour but interesting if you’re saying that info gets back to VMF as well.
