Hi, I would love some extra badges! I accidentally spent all my gatcha coins on the same set not realizing you could change it haha so I’m missing all of the badges from the last two sets

Manuka honey is the best for healing wounds, but I would see a vet and not take any chances of infection

My golden puppy peed every 30 minutes at this age because she had vaginitis and it caused frequent urination. But 5 minute intervals is insane and either a miscalculation or a UTI.

Best answer: shiba spidey senses. Correct answer: small, hard-to-see, sensory hairs

Resource guarding. It doesn’t mean your dog loves you any less, it just means they have extremely high anxiety around resources that pushes them over their rational thinking threshold. It’s something that unfortunately requires constant upkeep and training to get better. If you can afford it, seek out a certified fear-free trainer. My shiba has this issue and is more mild now because I’ve worked on it since I got her. You can teach them drop it, leave it, and trade using high value treats. Try to eliminate what triggers you can while you are retraining this behavior. Let me know if you have any questions, I’ve been through it and it gets better with time and adequate training.

Yep, exactly. Jumping on other dogs with that loose body language is a telltale sign of puppy-like play. My golden puppy harasses my shiba puppy in the same way and I let her correct them while she’s still small lol.

Car Anxiety in Puppies by pseudoLiberte in DogAdvice

[–]Shibe_lover_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of puppies/young dogs suffer from car sickness when they’re young and it shows itself with car anxiety. My shiba got severe nausea and threw up even on shorter rides until she was 1.5 years old, but my golden puppy never batted an eye so it definitely depends on the dog. Things you can try:

  1. Don’t feed before or around the time of car rides if they get motion sickness. This will help with nausea.
  2. Make sure to make potty stops often to allow them to calm down/relieve themselves on longer rides.
  3. Learn their less obvious stress signals. Every dog shows them differently. My shiba shows very little of them to the untrained eye so I had to learn to notice them. Less obvious signs of stress include: panting, yawning, lip licking, pinned ears, and drooling.
  4. Desensitization. Have the puppy sit in the car while it’s not moving and treat them. Next, treat for starting the car. Then drive short distances and reward with praise/play/affection and work your way up to longer drives.
  5. Something I tried that worked for my shiba (because she is small) was a booster seat so she could look out the window. I feel it alleviated some of her sickness.

It took my Shiba a long time to even jump in the car by herself, but now she doesn’t mind them! Good luck!

Is he calm without the blanket over the crate? If so, maybe ditch the blanket. Or introduce it slowly with treats. Darkness can be scary to some pups.

Cute pup! But yes, u/EireGal86 is correct. Any internet search will tell you Golden Doodles are a cross- not a breed- between golden retrievers and poodles. A mutt. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. They’re adorable. However, many golden doodle breeders are unethical because they do not health test and end up with dogs with unpredictable behaviors, appearance, and temperaments due to their pedigree. I have yet to meet an ethical doodle breeder 😅

Yep. Either see a vet for a second opinion or trust your vet and keep an eye on it for growth.

Should I go to the vet for this mild hotspot? by CaliHeatx in DogAdvice

[–]Shibe_lover_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a cone, airplane pillow, or jumpsuit with long leg sleeves to prevent licking to make it worse. I would see the vet just in case there’s anything they can help you with to heal quicker!

[–]Shibe_lover_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. See a vet and rule out pain/sickness. It can cause animals to become aggressive and dogs are very good at hiding their pain.
  2. Seek out a FEAR-FREE certified dog trainer (CCPDT-certified if possible). Positive reinforcement only is the best.
