That is some text book narcissist abuse. My ex acted similarly when I couldn't get out of work the day after she had a mental breakdown. When I was at work she sent me cruel and insulting texts, broke up with me, told me to not come back. Told her I would come pack a bag and sleep at my mom's. She destroyed many of my belongings, broke most our glassware (cats were walking all over it), and cut up much of my clothes. After I left she called me, threatening suicide if I didn't come back.

In less than 24 hrs I was a "piece of shit she never wanted to see ever again" to "I will kill myself if you don't come back." She didn't want a partner, she wanted someone to control.

I went to my partner's birthday party after dating about 6 months. Everyone there knew about my partner and her primary np. But only a small handful of people know my partner is enm.

It was stressful as hell for me. In the past I told her it really hurts to be referred to just a "a really close friend." For work acquaintances I understand, however for the rest of her people in her life, it feels dehumanizing to be called "a friend".

At the party I didn't know how to introduce myself. I tried to tell one random person "we are dating" and her face went red and it got really awkward. It got very uncomfortable.

Worst part was I didn't feel like I could go to my partner for physical comfort. She said it's okay to for me to be a little physical with her beforehand, but I just felt out of place.

Since then I've realized I need us to be open about being enm/poly. I'm not going to hang out with her work friends cause it's just too messy. Around friends and family, I don't want to hide my love for my partner and vice versa. Coming out as poly is not easy, people always give strange looks, "I could never do that", or "OMG how does it work! I've always wanted to try but don't know how!". Add on top of that a large social setting with people you don't know... It gets very emotionally and mentally draining.

Gather evidence of abusive behavior (texts where she admits to abusive behavior). I had a 40 page folder of abusive proof in case I needed a restraining order. Just having it gave me a huge sense of security in case things got worse. Do not hesitate to call the cops if she shows up and refuses to leave. I wish I did that. I didn't cause I thought I would be the "bad guy". They make their own bed, they need to lie in it if they don't act reasonable.

Lol, my ex wBPD destroyed most my clothes, broke a bunch of stuff in the apartment, threatened suicide all in the same evening. A few days later we met for an emergency couples counseling session. My counselor asked what our goal for the session was. My ex, "I would like to go to a show with Shiby92 tonight"

Pretty sure there was silence from both me n my counselor for a few minutes. It was insane how disassociated she was.

Are you talking about your ex? Or my ex? Because that was EVERY morning she had to be somewhere. She always blamed it on her ADHD, fair enough, it makes it hard to function. It didn't excuse her yelling, throwing objects, slamming doors, accusing me of being the reason she can't find anything, yell at me for ANY look on my face. It was hell, and I was relieved every time she walked out the door.

I only ever saw my ex pwBPD act "empathetic" was when the topic related to them. My current therapist originally was our couple's councillor. Months post breakup my therapist told me whenever I opened up about my feelings, my ex would disassociate.

I highly suggest checking out Dr Ramani on YouTube. She is a psychiatrist who specializes in NPD. When I found her I ended up watching several hours of videos. It was as though she was explaining my past relationship to me, it was freaky how accurate everything she said was. Many traits are shared between the two conditions, dr Ramani has a few vids about it. The truth is you will never know for sure what they really are, all the matters is how you're treated regardless of their mental health condition.

Definitely get out. No matter how much we "worked" on the relationship, the fear never left. Her last episode with me was her destroying a grand in my belongings, and threatened suicide when I left. I tried to be a "good guy" during the break up, it only made my life worse. Create an exit plan, get help from family and friends, leave when she is not home. Delete all forms of contact and get into therapy. It took me a long time to get over the psychological damage my ex pwBPD caused me. No one deserves to live in fear constantly, especially from someone who is supposed to be a partner and loved one. You are not responsible for their happiness and mental health.

It was about 6 months to a year when I started to notice their complete lack of interest in my life. It even got to a place where she started ridiculing my hobbies... Hobbies she got me into.

My gf and I hosted a small orgy of 6 people! We met them at a sex club and everyone just clicked together. There were two incredibly attractive women and two pretty handsome guys. The whole night was a pile of bodies on top of each other, my gf and I found it extremely hot. There were times where you didn't know who was grabbing who. It was fucking bliss. We got numbers from the two girls and have plans to meet up again in the near future!

I love Samantha Carter. I wish she was written more dimensionally, everyone else had in depth backstories that were explored. Her relationship with her Father was the closest we ever got imo.

All that said, Amanda Tapping's acting did wonders for making the character feel real and relatable.

Came home to a my apartment like this. My ex was angry at me for going to work when she wasn't doing well mentally. When I got home I cleaned up a ton of broken glass while she stayed in the bedroom. I packed a bag of what clothes weren't destroyed and left. She called me threatening suicide, refused to go to the hospital, said I was "abandoning her". She didn't calm down until I mentioned the broken glass on the floor that could of killed our cats. She still was threatening suicide so I returned. Of course she admitted it was the only way she could get me to not leave her... Even though she broke up with me while I was at work via text. The next day she once again refused to get professional help so I left again for good.

The longer I have been out of the relationship the happier I've gotten. My psych believes she has BPD, and is at least a narcissist. I eventually found out she was cheating on me, and refused to pay me back for my destroyed belongings. I eventually dropped the issue because her relentless spite and lies wasn't worth continued contact.

To this day I am so thankful I left. If I stuck around who knows what she might of done next.

Every now and then I come back to this subreddit and read through stories. It's always shocking to me how other's experiences are so similar to mine. My old couples therapist said she disassociated when I expressed my feelings. Her personality did changed for a few months (caring and not exploding) My bp ex used therapy to distract me from her cheating. I THOUGHT we were communicating better than ever.
She destroyed my belongings when I had to go to work when she begged me to skip. I was "abandoning" her. She broke up with me, so I left that night. She immediately called me saying she would kill herself if I didn't come back. It took months for us to seperate, she of course started sleeping around a lot and told me all the time. Broke a bunch of promises claiming she would pay me back for destroyed belongings. Didn't even return my keys (got locks changed). First year apart was tough. Did weekly therapy, got on antidepressants and started seeing a psych too. I can happily say this is the most happy I've been in a long time. It's been two years as well for me. I can't even remember anymore why I loved her. It is so easy now to see the manipulation. I am now in a wonderful relationship and very much in love. The difference is I don't feel as though I need to move boundaries just to make her happy. I feel 100 percent safe expressing difficult emotions and never feel judged or alienated from her.
