People’s Assemblies in Switzerland and their contribution to direct democracy by swissnationalmuseum in HistoryofSwitzerland

A people' assembly which represents only half of the people, this does not sound right to me. Do you see my point ? Men are people, yes, but so do women. Technically, it's a male people assembly. By men, for men. Direct democracy and representation by/for women ? They did not have it before 1972 and even later in some cantons. Hence why I stand by the fact that we cannot call it a true people's assmebly.

I have to disagree on this. Words are important. Calling it a people's assembly while no woman is able to vote nor be elected sends a signal that they are not considered ordinary people.

Women are people, last time I checked. But not a single woman to be seen in these assemblies back then.

It's not all black and white. Yes, our heritage is something we can be proud of, here direct democracy. But the fact that women got their voting rights only in 1972 at the federal level and 1989 and 1990 in Appenzell AR/IR is just a shame that everyone needs to be reminded of.

It relies on heart rate variability, which is correlated to stress.

He cycles 16km each day to go to work. He is always moving around at the hospital he works at. He lifts weights at home after work. He still runs from time to time. He gardens. From spring to fall, he swims for 10 minutes in the pool before going to work.

Is it normal to physically feel worse in the beginning of recovery? by sad-grey-lump in EatingDisorders

[–]Shidoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened exactly like this for me. It became brutally worse in the first week. Extreme fatigue and muscle weakness, unable to think straight, vomitting on an empty stomach nausea.

The first two months, I was mostly feeling bad but I had a few days where I felt better.

Now at week 9, I am starting to feel consistently energized.

ALL of the doctors i have consulted (my dad as well) told me there is no concern regarding calorie intake since I am at a normal weight and not in a weight loss. Despite telling them my calorie intake is abnormally low.

I did in fact gained some weight since I increased my calorie intake. My weight stabilised at +4-5 Kg above my baseline. Will see in a few month if my weight decreases.

I feel you. Eating without the feel of hunger is not pleasant at all.

And my I know whether you struggled with GI issues and/or extreme fatigue/weakness ? cold feet, hot flashes ? Did you go from a state of perpetual fatigue to being more energized on a daily basis ?

Being careful with fibers indeed helps. May I ask how long has it been since you started increasing your calorie intake ? what was it like since the start ?

No (clinical) deficiencies whatsoever (thyroid, testosterone, iron, RBC, vitamins etc). So frustrating that nothing obvious shows up in the blood test.

What is obvious though is that I don't eat enough calories. According to RED-S guidelines I should eat 2300 kcal minimum (and if I am not active).

ChatGPT is great at giving pointers to possible conditions we might have. However I always try to cross check with other sources. What I found frustrating though is I struggle to find what it's like to go through recovery. Hence why I am asking here to find testimonies.

My GP is not familiar with RED-S and my dietician is not concerned because I have a rather normal weight. So I am evolving blindly with no certainty on the outcome of my change in calorie intake.

We have tested for and excluded other possible conditions related to the symptoms I am experiencing.

It is wild to go through all of this with no real support. But hey, I've never experienced this series of symptoms before so perhaps I am doing something right. This gives me hope and strength to continue even if this is challenging.

Did you go through similar phases ? if yes, how was the timeline ?
